I smile when I hear the connection between PTSD and combat. The fear I experienced while living in my childhood home, the millions of voltage going through my body- up and down, the freeze response…. I laugh that I had Vietnam being a child in Europe.

That point about the ego is SO crucial. I know so many people that swear by mental therapy and mental therapy ONLY and they fail to realize that it isn't effective for A LOT of people. Ironically their ego is probably in the way, convincing them that something about psychedelics is not right. Of course when it's not faciliatory it won't be as useful but like Shawn is saying, the catalyzing effect of the combination of psychotherapy and psychedelics is astonishing and so monumental for so many struggling.

I like how much knowledge this guy has on neurotransmitters. They are so important that we do not realize they are literally the dif between us living completely fulfilled lives and feeling completely hopeless. I've come a long way over the years. The sad thing isn't that these aren't being talked about, it's that once they start being talked about they will be gatekept in treatment cost, which creates an entirely new epidemic, almost in an insidious and intentional way like a cycle.

Thank you for sharing and hope..10 years ago I was multiple raped , false imprisoned and tortured..... Everything failed both natural, therapy at a trauma clinic and allopathic medicine....
