I saw the owner of a McClaren ($1million+ car with the optional all carbon fiber body). I asked about the body. The owner said it originally had a metal body. He had a new, all carbon fiber body custom built, flown over from England, and installed. It's very likely that one-off custom body and installation cost a solid half as much as the car.
