I'm wondering if there was something wrong with the cat. My sister was once babysitting a friend's cat for a few months, the cat had decided for whatever reason, that I was it's person. Sat in my lap, follow me through the house, even tried to sleep in my room. Problem was, I'm very allergic to long-haired animals. So, one night, I'm watching TV, the cat's in my lap sleeping. I set the cat to one side, get up and go get a drink from the kitchen. All of a sudden, I get a sharp, tearing pain in one leg. The cat is hissing at me, and tries to claw me again. I kicked the cat away from me, it starts coming after me again, so I opened the basement door and kicked the cat through it, and close the door. It howled and hissed for about 10 minutes and then went quiet. A few weeks later, it attacked my sister. It was taken to the vet's, they discover the cat had some kind of brain tumor and had to be put down.

It became infected and she ended up in the hospital . Amputation was talked about . Took her 2 years before she fully recovered . Cat bites contain a lot of bacteria

@@icosthop9998 I've kept cats for 50 years now... they can be so smart it's scary. Of course, they can also be dumb as a box of rocks; it varies just like in people. We've got three now that run the gamut: One is stupid but very affectionate, one is batshit insane but can manipulate any mechanical device she is strong enough to, and one is needy and affectionate, is obsessed with shadows, and understand the concept of spoken language and uses it. He understands probably 80% of what we say, and makes up his own words for things and uses them in context. It's kind of astonishing.

@@MrJest2 I like dogs more than cats, but for some reason cats will gravitate towards me, they always love me while they don't like other people to pet them. They lay in my lap , or stay close to me just after meeting me. I don't know what I got going on with cats, many have a way to force you to like them since they show lots of affection towards you. That smart cat that knows language, I like that. 🙂 👍
