Brilliant should, more than likely, be reserved for those within the spectrum of intelligentsia. Einstein was brilliant. Galileo was brilliant, Curie was brilliant. Um, should we group Mindy Kaling, or any actor for that matter, with these type of individuals? Mindy Kaling, brilliant? Um, not so much.

What Drew said about age and Mindy's writing being universal is so true. I am 36, and yet I LOVED Never Have I Ever, which is basically about teenagers. And I also loved Sex Lives of College Girls. She killed The Office in its final two years, which one would think would be nearly impossible to achieve considering its popularity, but she somehow pulled it off. Hollywood gives out awards like beads tossed out at Mardi Gras and her Tony was an obvious "diversity" award. Her stage plays all bombed. Damn, kid, anyone can attempt to write, produce and direct. Doesn't mean they instantly qualify as "brilliant" for attempting (and failing more often than not) it. Then you go on about more Hollywood awards. Yawn. Is that the best ya got!!! Her stand-up was cringe worthy godawful, so much so, her ticket sales prompted her to abandon standup. Everything she dips her toe in fails, save the woke diversity awards Hollywood hands her. The New York Times always pushes woke content and Kaling happens to fit the bill, um, ya got anything with a little meat on the bone, kid? Wikipedia is, more often than not, composed by the person who it is about. Think about that for a minute before responding. Damn, kid, the Hollywood publicity machine has got you fooled to the max. @@pn504 It‘s something that got taken very out of context from an old interview. Basically she talked in a bunch of interviews about her awkward role in The Mindy Project, in which she was both the show runner and the lead and had a ton of romantic scenes with guest stars, and in one interview, she admitted to improvising a kiss with a guest star and the awkward situation that followed and joked about wanting to keep it quiet (but also openly talked about it on TV, so that was very clearly not her intention). She reflected more seriously on these weird situations in her second book, but a lot of people take that interview out of context and completely ignore the way her (and Conan and Andy Richter) were clearly joking about it.
