Those mines aren't meant to stop a large warship, as no warship gets that close to shore. Instead they are designed to stop small landing craft and drone vessels, which are unarmored and would tear a hole in large enough to sink it (technically modern warships are also no longer armored, but could possibly withstand a small sea mine due to the thickness of their hull.. but again, no frigate or destroyer is ever getting that close to shore as they would end up beached).

It wasn't a sea mine. What I was wondering, is if a single bomblet from Atacms might float, and when it drifted close to the shore, increased breaking wave activity might have set it off. (An Atacms missile was recently shot down close to the sea.)

Ukraine mined Odessa in 2022, but they got unmoored and ended up free floating in the Black sea, some even ended up in Turkey across the whole sea, that wasn't to their liking too.
