At this point, I wish they would internally decide which of the old mobs, not voted on, they want to actually implement and conduct a new mob vote involving them. Exploring new possibilities with mobs is great, but I also believe it's a shame to abandon concepts like the copper golem and the iceologer.

Not really true at all, we only voted for the cliffs. They wanted their next update to be the cave update but realised that they’d have to redo world generation completely and bundled the cliffs from the votes into it when honestly we probably would’ve got that anyway since they were already increasing world height. The biome votes always seem to get delayed or get in the way of the update they actually want to do, which is likely why they changed it.

Meanwhile they decided to do lava boats in 1.16 and got a millions better version than what people wanted(That btw was 5 Obsidian in a cauldron shape on a workbench); the Strider cuz if they are let to think on what to do they basically always do it well, there's so many examples

I think the ender pearl gamerule should be the other way around, with the persistance being the default. It just sucks when you've got multiple stasis chambers set up and then have to reset every single one after death

​@@xisumavoidI think the issue is that it's off by default, it's a simple thing to change but the fact that you have to go out of your way to do it is going to cause a lot of people to not bother turning it on. They took something that was just a feature and turned it into an unintended feature that you have to turn on. I feel stuff like this should be put up to community vote, I imagine a majority of people would want it to be false as default.

I still would like to see swamp and jungle villages. We got those new blocks, packed mud and bamboo that could be used to make these new villages. The release of these new blocks and the fact that they’re already tweaking the villagers, I mean it would be the perfect time to add them.

Personally, I like the idea of the swamp and jungle villages only spawning as abandoned villages with partially dilapidated buildings so the player can restore them and bring in villagers.

@leochangesnames no, they're not purposely made rare, the reason there are no swamp and jungle villages is because Mojang couldn't figure out a way to make raids work in these difficult to traverse terrains.

Here is my idea, drop the mob vote this year and finish the biomes that were voted on already. They already have mobs included and it kind of feels like they're being distracted from them. I'd also like a rank choice on the mobs that didn't get win in the last couple of mob votes, though ideally they just add them all period.

I HATE that they make the community vote because it just divides the community. Veteran players are going to choose a functional mob, and young players will choose the cute one. The cute one will win, and we're stuck with something practically useless again.

@@ieatsand9259 The problem with a company doing a negative thing over and over again is that in the long term, it drives away engagement. Those irritated by the problem withdraw or stop caring until you can hit a new low, and new players hear about what the company does and avoid buying the product. In all cases, it's permanent engagement loss. And you can only hit so many lows before you lose everything. I just wish Mojang/Microsoft cared about that.

I was actually for changing the villager trades but now that we are getting to the point where we need multiple graphs and every change they make keeps getting tweaked to appeal to both parties kind of makes me feel like changing the villager is starting to get so complicated and complex that I'm wondering if it's even worth changing at this point.

The cartographer changes are extremely irrelevant imo because most players at this point use seed visualizers or commands to find villages. But very unpopular opinion, I think the zombie villager curing method for prices is extremely OP and should be nerfed for working one time only, or have a floor on how low trades can get. Trading a few sticks for enchanted diamond armor will always feels a little cheaty for me.

I personally like villagers the way they were, and I don't really like any of the changes they've made. I think that they probably do need a rebalance, but everything they've done just made them more of a grind and raised more issues that need to be looked at. I can tolerate all of the changes if they fix anvils and make transporting villagers easier. And as long as stacking raid farms aren't nerfed. And I guess I'll just have to endure mining for diamonds :( Maybe I can find a Paper-friendly tunnel bore. Or just figure out a way to switch my server to Fabric.

It’s worth changing if they actually reworked the villager trading mechanic completely. Making the trades worse but leaving the tedium of trading just creates another thing in the game I have 0 interest in doing.

I'd like it if they had a working beta of the mobs we'll be voting on this time around. The teasers are really there to highlight the "best" aspects of each new mob, but I feel like there is bias or misinterpretation that can really diminish or inflate a mob and influence the vote. Whereas if we could see what the game would be like with them, we could actively judge for ourselves how much they contribute, their usefulness and aesthetic, as well as provide feedback. For instance if the Moobloom had been a unique mob that could naturally spread a variety of flowers, I think more people would have given it a chance. We got Sniffers for those reasons after all.

The implications for ender stasis chamber is pretty big. But I can imagine it would also introduce new strats in speed running, pvp and adventure maps. throwing a pearl, quickly unloading an area through dimension transfer, throwing a pearl a spilt second before getting killed and flank your opponent the next moment by tp ing behind them...lots of interesting opportunities

My issue is not necesarily with the villager trading. While I think it is a silly and roundabout way to combat the over abundance of villager trading halls, I think that mojang are tackling this wrong. They have correctly identified (part of) the problem, being that villager trades are OP. But why are people utilizing these trades? Because enchanting, combining and repairing tools is just not cost or time efficient. They have also made it so that there is often only one way to get certain enchants. The problem with anvils breaking and the whole thing becoming "too expensive" is pushing people to Mending. The only way to get mending? Villagers! Sure, in certain tables mending is available, but it's not a guarantee, ergo, it's not being used. Swift Eff 5? Pretty rare to get from enchantment tables, but getting that once from a villager sets you up good. Even combining two Eff 4 books isn't too much of a hassle. Now, for doing that once, sure, you could potentially make the argument that it would increase your enjoyment of having a set of armour and tools that you actually worked hard for. But then you die, because you just do that sometimes in this game. And then the whole journey starts over. Do I have a solution? No. Is a text reply like this doing it justice? No. What I really, really like is Old-School Runescape's approach to updates. They just post it on their website, they have in-game polls and if 75% of the replies say yes, then that thing happens. It's really transparent and it shows a willingness to throw things out the window if the community doesn't want it. Perhaps smaller updates like that would be more beneficial to minecraft rather than big content dumps once every year and a few dot releases scattered round.

Rather than just giving us a choice of 'which new mob', how about we get the option of 'no new mobs'. I'd like to see them focus on other areas of the game that need attention, and new mobs just isn't a thing that features high up on my list of possible improvments that could be made to the game.

I'd love to see them improve on the current mobs. After playing this game for a decade, the older ones have gotten stale. How about more zombie and skeleton variants? They're not doing this for Java because they're trying to push people into more profitable games like Dungeons and Legends.

@@ieatsand9259 Because all of their focus has been on more profitable games like Dungeons and Legends instead of the original Java game. They make a lot more money per player on those because of the multiple DLC releases and other extras versus a one-time purchase price with free updates. Same with Bedrock, it's more profitable to push players into that version where they have deals with multiple platform/console makers versus the PC-only Java version. They're going to put more resources into what gives them a higher rate of return, simple economics. It's on Microsoft, I don't think the people at Mojang are driving this approach but they're not the ones making the big decisions anymore.

Even though I understand the issues people have with mob votes, I think the true problem is that Mojang doesn't even have their concepts completely worked out when they get to the voting. I mean, just look at the Sniffer and how useless it is. It's very difficult to obtain just to give you two flowers that have absolutely no use. Not having any new mob would have been better than adding that lost opportunity. And the worst thing is that it's not that difficult to think something Snifflers could be used for. Just with the plants alone, if they could be used for brewing new potions that would make the Sniffer at least somewhat useful. Everyone was expecting the fire flower (I think that was it's name?) to at least be a light source. But no, Mojang didn't think what this mob could be used for, and just gave us two dumb useless uninteresting plants, making the whole process of wasting a lot of time going to the difficult to access and dangerous water ruins to get the sniffer into a chore that feels absolutely worthless. Honestly, the only time I've gotten angry while playing Minecraft has been that. And the absurdly useless drop tables of the archaeology didn't help. 1.20 may be the worst update I've seen, and I've been playing at least since 1.5. People got upset with the Wild update, which honestly wasn't a good update, but at least didn't make me feel like Mojang was giving me some empty features pretending to be improving the game with them.

As long as the mob does something outside of existing, (Glow squid) I'm fine with whatever. Allays seemed to be useful. The sniffer I find to be neat, since underwater got a lil' more exploring to find that egg. Kinda wished there were more than 2 plants found by the Sniffer, would've liked that more.

I do think villager trading should be better, but I also think that villagers in general should sell more useful items in general. And finding uses for items that currently don't serve a purpose or have limited purposes. I am still up for making an armor in between diamond and iron, and leather and iron. So give uses to bronze, maybe mixing iron and copper you get bronze, (or gold) similar to how you get netherite ingots... NOt only would this teach players the valuableness of ores, but it would give bronze a use as a cheaper alternative to diamond. while diamond is still better overall. Bronze has a less durability, but has better enchanting potential. I think my biggest complaint is that mojang isn't focusing on whats already there to improve. Like Combat, Mining, and Tierlists. I am more than happy to discuss that, but I feel that diamonds in general should only be obatainable in world, and maybe bronze obtained from villagers. Mending books etc being everywhere because honestly, I rather just have an item in game that just allows me to repair with just using my levels. I and I think many people have an attachment to their items and would rather prefer items to not take both exp levels and ignots and rare gems. They should fix anvils and exp in general right now its far too expensive to do, and as someone else said it should be like the enchanting bench you only have to be level 30, and use up an item. Thats already enough cost for an anvil. I would also add that iron shouldn't be as disposable as it currently is for anvils. Anvils should last either forever, otherwise you'll get people building towers with anvils. I think the community also wants more enchants? Maybe an enchant that allows you to dig in a 2x2 or 2x1. It would not only add to the game but simplify it. Why add to the monotonous grind that is minecraft. If you design for the older players you also design for the younger players. Because I don't know about you Xisuma but as an adult I really don't have time for minecraft's endless grind, especially for building materials. Or searching for that 1 environment to do villager trading. To me it just seems like more busy work? Its already very difficult to set up a villager trading hall, and maps really don't work on already generated worlds. They seem to be allergic to adding to the existing rather they are constantly expanding. Its a similar problem with NMS atm, but at least they fix their exploits and incentivize people to restart. With minecraft you really can't restart because once something is generated its generated.

The armourer/libarian trades have ruined Skyblock/Superflat worlds. Seeing a community of people on those types of worlds are cool. I just hate that it is 2x as hard now to progress to end game gear.

IMO librarian trades have been massively broken since 1.14, and not just because of armor. Same goes for the massively overpowered piglin bartering system. It's too easy to get massive amounts of things that used to take time and effort to obtain. It's like they didn't look at the overall game balance before adding this stuff.

@@aawake Have you played skyblock since 1.14? The classic maps were quite the challenge, you had to push the limits of your game knowledge in order to find resources and get things done. After 1.14 it's exactly like you said - just cure a couple zombie villagers and start grinding and within a few days you have everything. Not much of a challenge anymore.

In my opinion they should just Stop mob voting and add worthy content. What about a minecraft "land mass/structures" vote, The one big thing that minecraft has always been lacking on is volcanos, underground villages, jungle ruins, giant trees (like the swamp in avatar the last airbender) and natural glacier water falls Mobs are cool and all; but major structures would be a sight to see The jungle/desert temples have existed for quite some time.. maybe add some new temples/ruins to compliment the new biomes? Or ancient carved cliff statues in extreme hills (maybe created by pillagers) Or in the nether for instance; we see broken portals in the over world but we dont see them in the nether in which we could come to assume the piglins were trying to make portals to enter the overworld (according to the lore of minecraft: legends) We need hot springs, we need ancient mazes, we need broken down civilizations, and most of all; when are we going to get a proper weather cycle, or natural "disasters" such as floods or even meteor showers? (They dont have to be destructive to have an influence) Tell more of a story with the land and sea, Growing up and playing minecraft for a decade and seeing all the mods that added say; villagers that can build their own houses/buildings (to go so far as not making villages stagnant) or stone golems in ancient towers that provided beautiful high grounds to look at the surrounding land, or you know; the deep dark (a mod already exists for that too) With the freedom they have; They lack the will to bring anything worth exploring into the game. And yes minecraft IS a sandbox, in which it is up to the player to create the experience, so maybe add some more intuitive concepts that will benifit older worlds and older builds! Like the tuff golem (being able to add decoration and add more liveliness with the idea they can move around and become stone structures in other places and can be decorated) Or you know... pre-generated names and/or conversational bits for villagers to add more types of interactions between them and the player All in all; what minecraft is compared to what could have been Is dissapointing. Also, I personally feel all the announcements to what they are going to add in next (within reason of course) kind of kills the experience too, Atleast when notch was developing the game; they would do things such as only speaking about half of whats going to be added upon release and allow players to go experience new things themselves, Now they have "oh this is everything thats going to be added" which equates to players having hopes for specific features... and then they don't deliver what was promised (im looking at you... bundles -.-) Give us an update where you barely disclose minor changes and/or changes regarding structures or new mobs... and let the players figure it out. The beauty of games back in the day was simply the fact that you could'nt just look up online where everything is or was in the game. You had to figure it out yourself (and this is what makes older gamers far more attentive to appreciation of self discovery) compared to the average tik-tok joe with an automated voice going "look what mojang is adding in the next update, go here and do this if you want to experience what thousands of other players are doing at the exact same time using this same guide" And yes, I see the pro and cons of many of the concepts I just mentioned, but thats the beauty of evolution, (especially in a game such as minecraft) If a concept or goal doesnt work out; they can address the issue as an independent variable as apposed to under-delivering or hell; even changing things that worked fine to begin with. Now go fix all of the bugs and glitches caused by the last 10 updates! They could go so far as to subracting how many times you open a UI, For crafting tables for instance; what if we could just place the items on the grid displayed on the crafting table and boom? Or make furnaces the same way? (Yes you could still access the UI to see everything inside) but imagine just clicking on the lower bit of the furnace to add feel, and the upper section of the furnace to add smeltables. Emerse us more in the world than in the menus If you count how many minutes a minecraft player spends in a UI, You will begin to see what i mean

Yeah, this seems like something that's going to become either a support nightmare or a PR nightmare for them. It's the kind of reason why people were really afraid when Microsoft bought Mojang (which has otherwise actually been surprisingly positive in my opinion - sure the chat reporting system has been a rough ride, but honestly I think that would have happened without Microsoft, it's just part of a game growing up).

I remember last year, when I was saying in comments that the best choice is totally the Rascal. Because the way it was described implied that there could have been a chance, maybe tiny, that he could drop iron gear with mending. And tons of people in the comments were ridiculing me, saying "What's the point of a NPC that gives you Iron Gear with mending, when you can get all the Diamond gear and all the Mending books that you could want super easily from villager trading? I'm kinda glad the search method was reverted. I'm someone who will type the fewest characters to find what I'm looking for which usually means letters in the middle of words so for leggings I'd search "ggi", conduit would be "dui", behive would be "eh". I play a lot of modded so I'm used to using JEI and searching for things like @eat/@ate (but not @eating) for Create, @ctr for Project Red, @rma for Thermal. I can generally filter things down to a row of items with 5-8 characters no matter the number of mods as it's 3-4 characters for the mod, space, 1-3 characters for the item This searching is absolutely something that will end up being un-reverted and there's no real incentive for them to add a setting so it's probably something I'll just have to deal with, but with the recipe book actually showing all items when searching I might actually start to use it

Why don't we have furnace minecart in bedrock? my niece and I spent time laying out a rail network yesterday and came into a horrible situation where we realized that we aren't able to put a furnace and a minecart together 😂. Didn’t even realize that the armorer trades required multiple diamond items. So twelve diamonds to get some legs and twenty one to get a chestplate? That’s a major nerf. I’m ok with it because it returns diamonds to being more than worthless (in single player), but making the trade completely useless seems like overkill.

I don’t think anyone is clowning on the armor trades because they don’t realize the material value of changing boots (4) into leggings (7). They’re clowning on it because it’s a ridiculous system for an armorer to turn boots into leggings, or leggings into a chest plate. I honestly wish they would just not make any diamond items renewable at all. No precious material should be renewable in any way, otherwise it’s not a precious material.
