Just to clarify, as long as you have allocated enough memory to your game, adding more will not improve performance. What DOES improve performance is your RAM speed. In this test, he is running DDR4 2400Mhz RAM. In some cases, running faster RAM (say, 3000 or 3200 Mhz for example) will improve frame times.

Yes, ie. if you have a 200+ mods modpack, they usually use up 2-5 GB RAM, if you already had 4-5GB allocated from 8 GB, you might run into OutOfMemory crashes. If you have more than 8 GB, using modpacks even bigger than 200+ shouldn't be a problem. There is always a limit, though.

@@pol-ek3yq no you decrease your ram, I used to have 8gb of ram and was able to run Minecraft with 78 mods with breeze.. It’s either your cpu not usually your gpu, ram doesn’t always play a big role in Minecraft most mod packs support between 2-8gb of ram mods with 200+ needs at least 8-16gb of ram usually.. if your Minecraft runs like as with small mods then it’s usually your cpu.

keep in mind that his fps is while recording but also its in a world where there isnt much going on, if you have a lot of entities around your base, or a lot of particles ( from example a fireplace with smoke) your fps will fluctuate a lot, i have a laptop with a 1050ti 4gb and 8gb of ram and if i wanna play decent in my world where i have lots of stuff going on, and with shaders i need to use 6gb or ram so i can get a constant 70-80 fps on my base but that is with an enhanced default shader which is less demanding that the one he used.

16GB ram is only required when you have extreme volumetric lighting shader + 2048x resource pack and want to play the game at 30 chunks I almost lost my unsaved work yesterday. Minecraft froze the whole windows. When I managed to open task manager, memory was at 90% - 100%

Technically it will run slower if you have 4 gigabytes maxed because you have 16 gigs so it takes out a little bit of memory. However if you’d have 4 gigs solid it would take up more memory and that leads to crashing.

Demanding shaders use more GPU, A 1050TI will run shaders like Chocapic13 on medium settings very well. SEUS Shaders would not be reccomended on those specs unless you turn down most settings

How have i got an RTX 2060 6GB V-RAM with an i7 - 9700k at 3.6GHz with 32 GB DDR4 2400hz with minecraft on a 480GB SSD an with half settings on shaders getting only 70-110 fps ???? (Running minecraft on 25GB) Edit: turns out i was using the "Ultra" version of chocapic v7 , with the high version im getting an average of 120 fps xD

HyperWize I have same specs but less memory at 3200 MHz and a better ryzen 5 3600x memory is 16 gb and m.2 sad 512 gb and I got 144 to 200 FPS with ray tracing and best shaders set to normal but if you have rtx 2060 like when I turned shaders to high at was bad and at 60 FPS but I turned render setting normal it was With all high FPS was normal maybe it’s that

If your pc with only that amount but your graphic still can run with shader. you can get to 4096 mb = 4GB Ram By Doing. 1.Run CMD As Administrator 2.Type in: Bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 4096 3.Reboot

I'm getting an ASUS with 2.6GHz and 4gb ram, would just normal minecraft be ok? I'm hoping for at least 50 FPS because my old terrible laptop only got maximum 40 FPS. I'm in middle school so idk anything about tech 🤷‍♀️

It should run Minecraft at 60 FPS, but I'd recommend installing Optifine, turning down some Settings, dedicating 2GB RAM (As seen in this video) and you should be good!

Most likely, a 4gb laptop won't have even similar cpu gpu specs as what is shown. This means that just because he used 4gb in the video and got 200fps, you probably won't get that much.
