Back in the day the "simple" cannon was even simplier. You attached one lever to the fuel TNT and another to the ammo TNT. The downsight of timing it was compensated once you got the hang of it, as you could control the time the ammo would explode

I just started playing minecraft again after a long break. I have been watching a lot of videos on 1.16 farms so youtube recommended me this video. As someone who used to play hardcore factions seeing these cannons made me laugh because they are very similar to the very first cannons I built. Few tips that might help: 1 the slime block cannons won’t work in bedrock because in bedrock chests furnaces dispensers and a few other things are movable when they are not in Java. 2 if you want more power you can take a design and power it from the sides using repeaters then you can stack more dispensers on top for more range or blast power. 3 if your having trouble/ your cannon is blowing up make sure to check you have water, correct timing with the repeaters, and the tnt isn’t hitting anything that’s to close/ bouncing off your target.

I have collected some data about the "Automatic TNT Cannon Design" (2nd Design), that you may want to consider when planning out where to locate your cannon. All of these tests were conducted on a flat world btw. The range of this cannon is about 53 to 109 blocks, with the max height being about 17-18 blocks (Only the farthest shots went this high) and the lowest height being about 6-7 blocks (Only the lowest shots went this high). As you can see you probably would not want to build this cannon too far away from your enemies base because of its large, but uncontrollable range in both height and distance. Another thing to watch out for is how far you get away from the cannon because if you exit render distance it could explode. Some other reasons why the cannon could explode are because it went too long without ammunition or because Minecraft is lagging a lot. An easy way to fix these problems and a way to turn the cannon off is to just break off a piece of the redstone (in the redstone clock) and the cannon will shut off. To turn it back on you just have to put back the piece of redstone and press the button again. If you are wondering about the time it takes for the TNT to explode once hitting the ground, it can range from one and a half seconds to instantly exploding depending on how far it lands. The cannon is also great for mining as it uncovers a lot of ore in the ground; the farthest i've gotten into the ground is to y level 10. Another cool feature about this cannon is that you can keep stacking it over and over again making it do even more damage. I would also suggest stacking the cannon 2+ times because if the bottom one and second one explode you will still have the third one working. Overall a great and simple farm to make that takes almost no time to find the resources for. Thank you @BlenDigi for sharing your farms and I will make sure to use them in the future if needed.
