This farm is working in 1.19.51 as of 1/18/2023. However, after two unsuccessful hours I discovered how to "fix" the not dropping issue. At 6:35 in the video Silent pushes a crystal across to break the portal and then leaves the crystal there. I decided to try and break that crystal and place the three crystals as the last step. After changing that I was able to get bedrock 5 attempts in a row. I don't know if it is luck but I figured I would comment to see if it could help someone else out. Thank you Silent for this and all your other awesome tutorials.

Instructions are a hair unclear, could you explain what you meant exactly? Did you push the end crystal, THEN break it, and then place 3 in the area where it was pushed where the fire is? Also it is a bit confusing because silent breaks the crystal, did you mean that you keep it there?

There are current working witherkillers using a bubble column to keep the wither jammed in the bedrock. I'm also wondering if the bedroom removal alone will help make an overworld witherkillers at the bottom of the world.

You could use the bedrock to make a wither cage for you block farms, one of @silentwisperer videos. Attach your wither to the output of a tree farm, concrete converter, even a mud farm!

You can place them with the setblock command But to get portal blocks like the gateway you need a commandblock. And even then you didn't get the block itself, it just spawns the block

Even going into February, this still works. Was able to confuse my friend on our vanilla survival world. (Someone else mentioned this, but once you get the top end crystal in place, break it, and then replace it with the other 2.) Do the rest of the video the exact same, and you’ll have bedrock!

Neat tutorial now a bedrock wither killer. But I’m feeling like I’m becoming paranoid about my world size and stuff. I play on a single player Xbox one s console and my world is roughly 750mb. Should I be concerned. I did some exploring in the early days 4 years ago but in last couple years have been very careful about exploration. I don’t have access to any world trimming tools. Also should I worry about allowing updates to happen right when they drop? Also I have no Xbox live so no multiplayer and ya currently no realms/servers

I just ran this in the survival Realm world I'm playing on. Out of four tries, I now have three bedrock blocks. It seems that all the redstone dust gets burned up every time, so I'll need to bring more if I want to get to 10 for the End Gateway style wither killer. I've made one and had it work in Creative mode.

We can use bedrocks from this farm to repair the old wither farm as well. If you use the old design of wither farm (with end fountain and obsidian platform), you can just change obsidian blocks on the platform to bedrock blocks instead, and your wither farm will work again!

I'm curious about the timing as well. I'd be willing to sacrifice extra redstone components (repeaters, etc for delays) to get more reliable bedrock per run. Ie using a single button push that moves the last crystal into place, triggers both sets of pistons, then lights the tnt at the right time. Have you figured out any tips for timing everything properly in your experimentation? (the piston drop rate is a pretty cool idea too)

@@Daniel-rb7zo ive been very impressed with how lenient the timing is. Id assumed that it would have to set inside a particular tick or two but that so isnt the case. It seems to work at any point the last crystal is spawning. Whether the tnt is set early in the spawn or late, doesn't matter. As long as its inside that period.

This is an awesome glitch that actually is hard to patch! The stable mechanics make this very hard to change, as it has to do with portal generation, with the resetting of the portal, it would make mojangs job a living hell to fix.

@@JDvb23 do you not see all these people in the comments running into issues? I spent 3 hours yesterday trying to figure out what’s going on. I turned my Xbox on and off, I went in and out of the end dimension, I shut down the Xbox for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes. I tried placing down the piston, logging out, then placing down the end crystal, logging out, log back in, and NOTHING WORKED. UNTIL I figured it out on my own. The issue was the temporary block to the right of the obsidian below the first end crystal he put down at the start of the farm. I had to break that block for it to work. This was mentioned nowhere in the video, and probably explains why so many people are having issues.

I followed it exactly how he did and had 0 issues. Honestly sounds like a you problem that it took you so long because I had it done within ~20 minutes. Learn how to follow a KZbin video and not have every single block explained to you. You have eyes as well, look at your screen.

Just wanted to let you know, I tried this on a regular single player world and it works exactly as expected. I also tried it on my realm and it does not work. I log out and then back in to be able to push the crystal and it still won't break the bedrock. I'm thinking it might have something to do with realms being persistent worlds, because they are on a server and are running constantly

If you're doing it on a realm, save and quit to give the end crystal the ability to move over bedrock and erase it won't work. You actually need the server to go in "passive" mode. That means you need to unlog 3 minutes and nobody has to be on during that period of time or the crystal won't erase bedrock. The thing produces me arround 1 bedrock per 4 to 6 atempts. I need 18 bedrock blocks to make a wither powered wood farm + some spare to keep in my echest for when we'll have reliable duping method (yes, i'm not loosing north). If anyone knows how to either farm this more efficiently or use the bedrock more efficiently for my wither cage, i would take the advices. :)

Back your world up before trying duplication as you need to force close your game and it could corrupt your world! There are many duplication videos. It's very easy.

I found the solution everyone! It fixed it for me. I spent hours trying every possible solution. So if you pause at 6:12 you need to break that end stone block that is to the bottom right of the end crystal. As soon as I broke it, it worked for me. If it does not work, place that block there again.

I can confirm this still works with 1.19.30 I believe that the trick is timing the pistons so that they retract and then you press the next set of pistons. Right before those pistons retract you press the TNT. Still not 100%, but I’ve now been able to get 3 pieces to drop.

I just wanted to see if this actually still worked; I have watched and rewatched this video a few times and have everything to specification. I keep making a copy of the world so I don't have to rebuild if it doesn't work, but I've now tried this like 10 times and haven't gotten any. I am pretty sure I am doing everything right, so do I just need to keep trying? The only real difference that I've noticed is that the TNT blows up, and then the crystals blow up about a half a second after whereas in your video it seems like one large explosion. I really just want one piece haha thanks

It still works, check all 7 crystals are placed when the tnt go off, also check order you’re activating pistons

@@Lydia-Chlamydia I appreciate the offer, but honestly it's not too big of a deal; I just wanted the bedrock for a wither chamber because my kill chamber from 1.17 had started to malfunction and the wither was breaking all of the obsidian I had placed (not really sure how it worked before). I just built another wither killer but need to replace blocks after each use :/ no worries. I'll try a couple more times, but thank you again for offering the help

I found out on realm logging out and back on doesn't really work but leaving a spawn point at the portal and going back to the end works (make sure you have realm owners permission before doing so like silent says)

Can level bedrock but not remove the last layer.

@@darkl0rd666 you can use the fire glitch to remove bedrock (in the overworld or nether) so long as there is a block below it, as in the last layer of bedrock, but not the nether roof because you can't build on top of the nether roof in bedrock.

I had this farm in 1.19.10 it worked but now it's patched in 1.19.50 Tried tens of times and carefully rebuilt this in both survival and creative

Maybe a stupid question, but doesn't the wither drop every block it explodes? So could a caged wither ironically make bedrock farming more efficient?
