The sheer size of that beach and the abundance of trees is giving me beta mod showcase flashbacks. 1.18 really did wonders for the worldgen, ngl

Wait, there's no way default dripstones can generate lava fast enough for this setup, right? For the system to be completely self-sufficient, it would have to generate at least one cauldron every time a bucket gets consumed, with that speed of consumption I can't imagine the cauldrons being able to keep up with the demand - is there some trick to this, or am I missing something?
@triple_m_exe Жыл бұрын
Every blaze burner fueled by a bucket of lava lasts 16 minutes. 6 blazes x 3 = 18 blazes burners. That dripstone farm produces enough buckets of lava in the 16 min gap. I think you were surprised because you saw it refueling so many buckets at a time. It was because it was starting up the system. Hope I solved your doubts!

@@Xoruamit’s a bit more random, but at pretty much any tick dripstone can just make a whole bucket of lava for free. Just add enough of them to buffer out the RNG.

Make a lot of lava farm. Its not hard to make a lot of cauldron in create if you have iron generator
@gostlyplays Жыл бұрын
On average it takes 19 mins for the dripstone to produce a bucket. Each bucket lasts for 16mins So that’s about 4 cauldrons per 3 blaze burners

You could directly feed the steam engines with lava through copper pipes you also have the Crafts & Additions addon for Create, it's a very good looking power plant either way 👌

It was time-consuming, but once you figure out the mechanics it get easier. It was really hard for me to figure out the lava bucket refill system
@gammaboy4568 Жыл бұрын
Typical setup for me is quite similar, except I use one mechanical arm to fuel up to 9 burners under a single tank. The critical component here is the lava refill, since it makes for efficient fuel if you can find a renewable source. While he's using the dripstone + cauldrons, I tend to actually use trains to ship it straight from the nether. Fluid sources with a volume greater than 10,000 blocks are considered infinite sources, and pumping from them won't drain any resources. You'll know if you've achieved this if you earn an achievement for it. Only problem with using trains, however, is that they tend to stop operating when they've reached a station in unloaded chunks. I tend to install FTB Teams with it just to remedy this, since it can forceload claimed chunks. You could find more vanilla alternatives, but I personally think this lacking ability is a current flaw in Create's trains as a whole. Otherwise, you may have a harder time fully automating it.
@Monero_Monello Жыл бұрын
@@gammaboy4568 vanilla has the /forceload command you don't need to have ftb teams installed 👌

You can also use dripstone to create enough lava to fill an area of 10000 blocks to get infinite lava in the overworld it does take a bit of time to complete but it is doable. It will take less time the more lava you invest into creating lava.
@emeryduhgamer Жыл бұрын
I had never even thought of this before (I’m dumb) but I realized with Create crafts and additions you a can actually store the power which means I can make backup batteries and generators for my factories
@AariaAtv Жыл бұрын
There''s a simpler way in some versions of create - if you can get a straw in your modpack, you can directly feed lava to the blaze burners.

Now for the big challenge: a fully powered steam engine. Unfourtunately, that would mean a self-sufficient supply of blaze cakes, which require cinder flower, which require netherrack, which is not farmable. It's not hard to get, obviously, but that just makes the entire idea this nugget away from being doable. The next logical idea is a system of netherrack in - gigantic SU capacity out. I'll just stick to windmills for the time being.
@ilovehumongoushonkers Жыл бұрын
soul sand cobblestone and nether wart would probably be a good recipe for netherrack. like 4 cobble + 4 soul sand + 1 nether wart = 8 netherrack. Or other nether vegetation could be used in the recipe

@@ilovehumongoushonkers How convenient - I'm working on a mod with small improvements EXACTLY like theses. I'll grab that if you don't mind. I mean, it's just the next natural step from making end stone craftable (somehow I didn't think to generalize this to netherrack)

Some constructive criticism: 1. 99% of lava system is redundant. You only need 3 items for a lava supply, a depot, a brass funnel, and a spout. And then some means of pumping lava to the spout. 2. You don't need 3 pumps per boiler. You only need a single pump at 20rpm per boiler level. (Ex 180rpm for level 9) 4. You have a inefficient ratio of tanks/blaze burners/steam engines. It's 4 tanks per single steam engine and single blaze burner. You have a lv9 boilers worth of tanks, a lv 6 boilers worth of blaze burners, and a lv3 boilers worth of steam engines. So in effect all three of these combined engines produce as much power as a single lv9 boilers while consuming twice as much fuel. 5. You can't start a steam engine in survival with a water bucket. That's creative only unfortunately.

Thanks for the criticism! There's definitely a lot of improvements that could be made for efficiency's sake, but I just built this as a neat thing inspired by someone else's design!
