Zach26Gamer Well I play on Xbox so idk if it's different on PC, but the totem of undying pretty much saves you from death. If you have the totem of undying in your hotbar, if you die it will give you extra hearts and keep you alive. I tested it by drowning on purpose lol. As I said, idk if it's different on PC or if they've changed the use of it.

Heres an idea. Go to the mansion, then use a command block to the island. That way it is traveling more than 7,000 blocks. Then from the island, you go to the next task.

The totem of undying does not teleport you to somewhere safe when you're dying in lava it basically just doesn't let you die and you get regeneration but if you're still in the lava after the totem is used you can still die.
