I have a bit of a theory. I think, Dylan was a lot more connected to security than we realize. I think, when Security was shattered into oblivion, a piece of Dylan went with him, which is why from then on he's been deteriorating. The piece of him that could recover was severed, and this left Dylan missing a piece of himself, the piece that truly cared.

Accident aside, it is really sad that Dylan could not tell that he was looking at the real Sammy. I guess he was so used to her consistent look, combined with how much time he spent using the illusion disc that he just couldn't tell what's real anymore. And if that weren't bad enough, Dylan has a point. We did not get any message through Fylan about how Sammy was doing. Neither of them could have known what was going on. Sammy could have assured to Dylan that she could come over and Dylan could have had more faith that she would come back to help regardless of circumstances.

Before anyone gets too worried, it's his arm that broke. If you look at the animation and animatic, Dylan's arm is restrained. Plus in said animatic, there are three linear bones. Not prominent in the human spine.

There's a bunch of people saying that the bones that broke were in his spine, doubt it ngl . The bones look like they're arm bones, the shape outside the bones looks like an arm, his arm was the real thing being mostly compressed by Blank's arms, not his torso. All in all, I think his arm broke. Either Dylan has been super brittle for a while now and no one noticed, or Blank applied too much force to keep Dylan in place. I'm not entirely sure which one it is.
