I think this was a good entertaining rule; it actually rewards doing the goal of the game, and it also creates interesting dynamics with different gear as well as exciting "what are we gonna get?" moments. I definitely think you should continue giving rewards for taking out beacons in future Hide Or Hunts, at least I would certainly enjoy it. You could however change up what kinds of rewards is given so we don't always get one person hogging a full set of OP gear and thus surviving until the end. While it in some games can give a bunch of OP gear like in this video, other times it could give smaller batches of gear, consumable items, non pvp/lower quality items with interesting/OP enchantments or simply diamonds (these ideas could either be in the same game or different ones). Example loot table(s) combining some of the ideas I suggested: Gear: 1 diamond piece of armor or weapon [chestplate, leggings, helmet, boots, sword, axe] 1 Bow or Crossbow as well as half a stack of arrows (arrows could be considered consumables, but bows and arrows are useless without each other) Special gear (should be named for fun): Netherite Hoe with Fire Aspect 2 Stone Axe with Efficiency 5 (great at taking out shields) Stone Sword with Knockback 2 Netherite Shovel with Efficiency 3 Netherite Pickaxe with Efficiency 3 Turtle Shell with Aqua Affinity & Protection 2 Trident with Loyalty 1/2/3? (Could be in the "normal" gear pool) Flint and Steel with Unbreaking 3 Materials (could either be considered as gear or consumables): X netherite ingots 3-7 diamonds Enchanted books [Protection 2, Blast/Fire/Projectile Protection 4 & Thorns 3, Fire Aspect 1 & Flaming, Sharpness 3, Efficiency 3 & Silk Touch] (there could be an anvil placed in the middle of the map) Consumables (amount received depends on how good they are): Ender pearls Golden Apples Golden Carrots? (good saturation but otherwise redundant) TNT (perhaps with Flint and steel) Potions, either splash or not [e.g. invisibility, splash harming, strength] (there are a lot of them so I won't list all of them, but there are many creative choices) (the same type of potion, but enhanced/normal could both be in the pool, but perhaps with different amount rewarded) Tipped Arrows? It's worth noting that giving more than 1 kind of item in one reward can make the rewards more interesting and less likely to be useless. If combining rewards, you can either have each reward-set be hand-picked, X (2-3) rewards from the reward pool (you probably used something like this in the game in the video), give 1 reward from a gear pool and 1 reward from a consumables reward pool (the option I think is best) or even do something fancy like have each reward be given a certain amount of value and giving random rewards with the same total value (Select the items in the reward by rolling on a table with the rewards of equal or lower value than the remaining value, then decrease the remaining value by the value of the reward and select another one if there are is remaining value. If a consumable item is selected give an amount of it equal to the remaining value.). My favorite way of selecting rewards would be a combination of the last 2 options: select 1 item from the gear reward pool, then select an item from the consumables reward pool, with the amount of the consumable item given in the reward be the total reward value, minus the value of the gear item, divided by the value of the consumable item, rounded up. For example, let's say the total reward value is 12, the gear selected is diamond helmet with a value of 5 and the consumable selected is ender pearls with a value of 2. The amount of pearls would be 4 (12-5=7, 7÷2=3.5, 3.5 rounded up is 4). The player would then be given a reward of a diamond helmet and 4 ender pearls totaling in a value of 13 not 12, but even though the total reward values can be different, it would make it slightly dynamic and it could still get balanced fairly well.
