It's good to see you break out of doing "modern" house building tutorials. This is not an aesthetically bad design for an early game home. Ignoring the lack of certain real world amenities like a bathroom, toilet, or kitchen, I've watched enough Shadiversity videos to know that this is not a good defensible castle. The door placement alone could be broken in by a zombie; I would use the open-door-is-closed trick to fool them. As to the major things I would change, the merlons need to be made at least 2 blocks tall for optimal cover, the first floor windows need to shrink (the farther away from ground level the better) or be removed entirely, and the overhangs need machicolations to shoot at mobs or players that may hang out under there, especially by the entrance.
