coolcreeper and bugz RTX is like shaders but it is way more modern and it requires a high end hardware. Shaders are like RTX but not as powerful or good looking.

A easy way to free up some space is to make your tower on one of the corners of your wall. That way it isn't smack in the middle of your build and you can use that limited open space for whatever you might need. I find builds like this work great as a safe house or rest stop as you travel through your world. Perhaps you are heading to an ice farm from your main base and it's getting dark, find a safe house and sleep till dawn. I build them in tree houses, caves, shipwrecks, farms, even a lone wizard's tower standing tall in a old forest.
