I used to use a similar design for a hidden passage in a bathroom. You can use a hopper to open a piston below and simply swim up to yet another room. The hopper is the sink by the way. The only thing is to make a really big house so it is hard to tell that the sizes of the rooms in hallways are not consistent with the total size of the house. The room above should be a small chest room and the one below could be a bunker. You can also use a passage hidden in lava outside with a hidden dispenser and a button inside. Ya I just gave it all away, but I don't play much hardcore these days. P.S. I'm thinking I might have a world with lots of your stuff soon, that I will be hosting. I will of course credit your work and maybe have something special to share.
