Yeah, except for piglins turning into zombifed piglins within like 15 seconds of being in the overworld. Maybe because the nether spread with them they could survive. But that’s just a theory, and they’ll probably give some orher explaination later

Wellll if you buy into the fan theories, the zombie plague in the air would turn them into zombies so maybe the plague wasn’t that widespread yet. Or perhaps since it’s a legend parts of the story were changed over time.

One thing I do wonder about though is, what about Endermen? They are naturally End-dwellers yes, but they have also been seen in both Overworld AND Nether as well. Do they just not exist in the game, or perhaps they're a neutral-type of mob? Perhaps freelance mobs that you can enlist the help of, but the Nether can also do the same with ones they find? Likely they'll probably just not exist in the game, but the concept of them being freelance backup you can recruit (And so can the enemy) does sound appealing, too.

The hats idea on Zombies and Skeletons is so simple but really adds to much to the characters and feel of the game. It's a quite small addition but one that makes it feel much more grounded in the Minecraft Universe.

The funny thing is, if you think about it, they did that to themselves, too. Since they started on this *before* the Nether update had dropped, it meant that they had to keep in touch with what Vanilla Minecraft was up to, otherwise some of the stuff they made would have to be scrapped due to it conflicting too much with Vanilla Minecraft. So in essence, even the Minecraft Legends team was also at risk of that happening.

My only issue with this game is the same I’ve got with Dungeons, the game has so many mobs and concepts that would be amazing to have in vanilla Minecraft but is quite unlikely we’ll ever see them outside their respective games

It's honestly a pain, bedrock edition means that the game is held back because they have to think about mobile players. And new creative ideas go into games like this. They should either allow free mods on bedrock or allow more sandbox control.

@@SUNKENCOMET Its actually java that holds them back alot nowadays. The java language is so slow and limiting in what it can do while C++ is better in almost every way. Thats why java took so much longer to allow underground chunks to generate in old chunks and it came to bedrock first. The big giant mountains that were first seen in bedrock got nerfed because java couldnt handle mountains that big so they made mountains smaller. Bedrock is undoubtedly the future of minecraft if we want to keep it going but people just dont like to hear that.

You can expect to have this issue with any Minecraft game then. While all the games are a part of Minecraft, they're really quite different from each other, with a different genre and a whole different playstyle. Mobs that are made for Minecraft Dungeons might not go so well for vanilla Minecraft because the vanilla game has to provide actual use to the mobs whereas Dungeons can just add it as another enemy you have to defeat during the campaign. I don't imagine people would care much about a new mob from Dungeons if it didn't really do anything. Also that's why the Minecraft Live 2020 mob vote was so disappointing, each of the mobs in the vote didn't really have any big purpose, they were just meant to add a mob in from one of the spin-off games, and when the glow squid got added, people disliked it because it basically had no use for survival gameplay, whereas in Minecraft Earth (the game the glow squid was from), where the game is all about collecting different items and mobs and using them to build in AR, it makes perfect sense. So, while on the surface it might seem amazing to have the mobs from the different Minecraft games in the vanilla game, the truth is, there is a lot of additional work that has to go in to actually make the mob be worth adding in, and a lot of the time the end result can be quite disappointing

Yeah, golems are incredibly under utilised in vanilla Minecraft. It would be really nice to have some extra diversity to them than just the ranged snow golem, which is not really suited for being anything other than a living snow farm and the iron golem, which needs a notable amount of setup, but blows through any opposition under the right conditions. So having more golems sitting somewhere in the middle between these two and be more controllable by the player would be a nice addition, especially since it would potentially allow for a refined summoner-esque combat playstyle, which is currently only really achievable by creating a very one note dog army.

They’re not a mob that was made or thought up by the legends team, the idea was transferred over from base Minecraft. So no I’m sure they couldn’t be considered as “a mob from legends”. I don’t really understand the point of adding a legends mob to the base game if you have to completely change its proportions and the way it looks. There’s already plenty of cool mobs from Earth or Dungeons that already are in the vanilla style and don’t have to be changed and reworked. I just don’t think they will add any mobs from legends for these reasons. (Aside from the badger tho cause it pretty much has vanilla proportions and could work in game)

Glad to see some of my concerns getting addressed as new information like this comes out. Originally the unit variety used to look rather slim, but here we see a 3 tier system for the golems being at least considered and the piglins apparently having a similar gradient in their ranks, including hoglin mounted siege engines, probably towards the upper end. Co-op multiplayer seems to also be sneakily confirmed, which opens the door for pvp, so we don't have to rely on competent enemy ai to have a fun challenge. Stealth also seemed out of the question with the camera position not made for crammed spaces and the environment seeming extremely open to the point of appearing functionally boring, but these surprisingly dense forest scenes and glow grass give me hope on that front. I am still left to wonder about mission and faction variety, as well as how intricately units may be upgraded in the middle of a match to adapt to the changing circumstances, but I now have hope, that there is more on that front than what it currently seems like.
