I love the strategy of finding an igloo and getting a good early start that way. I've done the same before, but I started a villager breeder, then made an iron farm, and used a toolsmith to get exp and diamond tools before even mining a single diamond. It's so good!

What is and isn’t cheating is quite different when you’re creating content for KZbin as opposed to, say, competing in an event or speedrunning. You’re in a single player world trying to make videos for your audience, you set the expectations for your viewers and play how you want to play 😊 Love the first vid btw!

In my opinion free cam isn’t cheating especially for a creator unless you are constantly using it to find dungeons mineshafts ect but it is a really useful tool

I say use free cam, even take the diamonds. Ever since villagers got job tables you could have maxed out tool in the first 20 days with villager trades and zero mining it's all about what makes it enjoyable for the creator. The more you enjoy it, the more fun you have makes for better content.

@innCidious yeah I forgot they traded for diamond stuff and I got a minimal trading set up and had diamond gear in my world in a few hours. People sometimes forget that villagers can completely break the game if you use then right

I enjoy watching chill hardcore let's plays. I've gotten better at playing hardcore myself, but staying calm is still a challenge and I find it very encouraging to see examples of it in other's adventures. 😊

A couple things bro. 1. Use the beacon rule when freecamming. Basically, if you see diamonds you can't take them until you have built a full beacon. By that point you don't really need them. And they don't go to waste if you take them after that 2. Igloo - make second guy a cleric for lapis early game. You can breed villagers and enchant pretty much right away then. 3. Don't forget to grab quartz while in the nether fortress. Having the ability to mass produce auto farms right away makes a huge difference as you know. 4. Magma block river bottoms as soon as possible. Minecart/automate to collect fish for food.

Minecraft is a game. We evacuate our stress from a hard day, we tchill, everyone should play it the way they like. Yeah sur, there will be the hardcore gamers that like more challenge or just don't have a stressful job, or studies they'll yell for tcheating, and personaly i don't care about them. I use Tweakeroo and i use MiniHud and all the mods that emprouve my comfort in the game. I'm a builder, and i like to see where i want to go with a free cam, it's like creative where we have a good perspective for building but in survival. I can't say for you if it's cheaty or not, but i see many content creators using all this comfort mods and i don't have a problem with it!

I think free cam is cool AFTER you've explored the area. Just my personal take. If you used free cam to find things, I'd kind of feel like what's the point, whether it's diamond, spawners, caves, etc. I'd rather you find that stuff on your own, and then if you want to show us through the bird's eye view of free cam, that's cool. :) Enjoy the content, dude. I love the style of the house. Tip: remove your night vision and put down some light in your working spaces, it will show you where your lacking in decor. Having a creeper spawn inside is bad lol

In my mind it's absolutely okay to to take shortcuts like using free-cam/spectator mode/online tools etc. It all depends on what you want to do. After all, Minecraft is a sandbox game, you play it in whatever way makes it the most fun/most rewarding experience to you. If you want to focus mainly on building, but with the restraints of survival (i.e. travelling, resource collecting, etc.), by all means, use all the tools at your disposal to locate the resources you need to accomplish your goals. Randomly meandering around for hours to find that elusive mesa when all you want to do is building that thing is no fun at all. Unless that's what you set out to do from the beginning. Just set some base goals and rules for yourself and use every mod, resource pack, and tool to further those goals, and please share with the rest of the class. If along the way you find that a rule you set for yourself get overly tedious or impedes what you're trying to do - rules can change. As long as you tell as what you want to do and how, I don't think anybody can legitimately complain. Everyone can play according to their own rules and set their own goals and challenges. What you, or any KZbin Minecrafter for that matter can do is provide the rest of us with inspiration and ideas and show us ways to accomplish our own goals; perhaps showcasing tools, mods, resource packs etc. along the way that could be helpful. TL;DR Don't shy away from using mods/tools/etc, use them to further the goals you set for yourself. If you don't like it, change it - there's always the next Minecraft world.

I'm the kind of person that literally just boots up java minecraft and plays. Sometimes I look at biome maps but otherwise I just play, but it's mostly out of laziness, I have zero problem with mods or free cam especially for KZbinrs

Funnily enough, I've started a Hardcore world myself just a few days ago where I thought to get myself an early game XP setup as well, but the way I decided to do that was set up a mob grinder because I found a spot in the world where I have this tiny bump of an island completely surrounded by ocean, which greatly minimized any spawnproofing might have needed to do around the farm set up. Then when I dipped my toe into the nether to get Quartz, I found myself IMMEDIATELY in proximity to both a Fortress AND a Bastion, which just felt like the world was toying with me, trying to convince me to speed towards the End for an Enderman Farm instead.

You made a starter house away from village which if done would have been ez mode but you went creative for the builds just to explore the skill, I'd say that's way better than doing it otherwise, so my point, use of free cam is totally cool cause we get to see amazing stuffs in return, win win🏆 OP first day🤟👽

a tip, try to decorate with less windows, every wall with a window is not ideal, do a second door, a garden, a green house a outside storage or a blank wall, trying to do less windows was something that help me improve building

yay a new series!! i came over from the empires crossover and am happy i found some new content creators to watch. about free cam, use it and whatever tool and mod you want to fit your gamestyle and most importantly, whatever makes you have fun with the game. honestly to me that's all that matters. it's a game with a ton of different ways to play it and that's what i love about it, there's not really any cheating per say in this game. just do you man! i'm here for the content, not the "rules" you may or may not set. it's just a shame there will always be people who get mad at content creators for "cheating" as they would put it themselves.

Did you know, If you build lightmatica you can Set it to Auto place the right blocks from your inventory without changing the Block in your hotbar. That would Help alot time wise If you build with LM

For a moment, I thought your HC series was going to end with episode 1... O_o Right at 31:35, you can see a creeper in the upper window for about 3 seconds... then you go wandering inside a minute later to plant some torches. I'd say use freecam. It makes it easier to get an overview of an area and you wouldn't abuse it for off camera mining. I love the style of the starter house too. I want to get better at building and make something if my own in that style

For the boat. I believe when it was shipwrecked there. Maybe there was a higher sea level so it got suck. Over the 100s of years water level went down.

Curious how you decide how big you make your starter house? I always seem to either make it too massive or it feels too small very quickly.

A good rule I use that works nicely for me is figure out how much space is the bare minium you need with all your chests, furnaces, crafting table, enchanting table, bed, stairs, etc..., then just double that. That way you are able to comforably fit everything you need while leaving yourself a good bit of room to breathe for customization or anything you may have missed. I do just the first and second floor, then expand the basement if more room is needed later. Though it's important to remember it is a starter base, so it's sort of inevitable that it will feel too small, otherwise it wouldn't realy be a starter; that just means it's time to start looking for a new spot for your next build. And play around with shapes, with the right shape your build can both feel bigger and smaller in just the right places. Like compared to just a simple rectangle for the floor plan, an L shape can make the house look much bigger from the outside while feeling even more cozy on the inside for the same amount of area.

All free cam really gets you is diamonds which doesn’t matter a much in the long run. So it’s great to have for utility and looking at builds. I play on 2b2t and one of the most frequent modules I use is free cam. It’s just amazing

Jev, way to go with the house! It looks great! Also, I think freecam use just depends on how you play. If you’re trying to gather blocks to paint with and freecam can help, that’s great. If you’re more into the adventure and discovery aspect of the game, you might feel it’s too cheat-y. But it’s up to you! I honestly don’t think it’s any different than using gamma to see in caves. I love that there are 100 different ways to play Minecraft.

I think free cam is something that’s fine in a creative world, but in survival especially hardcore it’s something that shouldn’t be allowed. It’s just my opinion, but the fun of hardcore is exploring and coming across things unexpectedly. It takes away from what hardcore is.

Free cam is a bit cheatie. One dirt block on a door of a villager in hardcore allows for baby zombies to break the door and get the villager. Peace

I once spawned 200 blocks away from a 20 vein of diamonds and a village 600 blocks away. I even made an iron farm to get an iron pick. That was the best start.

If you play hardcore, zombies and baby zombies can break doors. So if you block the villagers in their houses, do it on the bottom half of the door (or the whole door) so the baby zombies can’t break in and ruin your day. ;)
