. . . Should've used Redstone lamps. Redstone Block (if used for powering, for example) in and of itself would conform to the *Very* red palette, and Redstone lamps have a very nice look to them - One I believe would work way better than the Sea lanterns. besides - you can always insert them into the stone, and easily hide anything you use to power them.

But actually it's hard to code in some of the parts of Grian's fortress into the terrain generating part of minecraft's code, because they need specific terrain to look like something good. Even if Mojang would add actual terrain as part of the part, it could not fit with the rest of the terrain.

Nowadays probably not, but in the first years these things existed you'd be surprised how many people (myself included) tried to make these hulks look nice in survival. The pallet was less advanced, but I think it looked alright back in the day.

Sadly it would be difficult because of the randomization when structures generate and I doubt grian would want to rebuild this in a bunch of different directions and types lmao

I could try to do that, although I don't/can't make structures that randomly generate, like there might be a hallway that lead to 2 other hallways, or lead to a dead end room with random loot. I use Mcreator, but I never actually published anything yet. If I remember I'll tell you guys about it, and give you a link if I know how.

I see the problems with this but even if it generated the same every time it would still be great. If you want to take on the project I would be happy to provide any knowledge or resources I h ha ve at my disposal.

I feel like the next chain of updates must focus on randomly generated structures. The nether fortress and the stronghold. Make it look better but keep the original feel and definitely make the generation better so we don't have them generating into walls or long bridges to nothing. Speaking about fixing generation, the villages need better ones too. I lost count of how many times I find one on the side of a cliff and it's beyond saving or trying to defend.

I believe the reason that they haven't made any of the structures more complicated is because the randomizing code that generates them would have to be so complicated that minecraft would pretty much crash anytime it tried to load something of Grian's caliber :(

I think it's kinda cool having netherack just growing inside of a fortress hallway, kinda gives you an idea of how old and ancient these things are, and how it shouldn't be perfect with broken bridges and hallways that cutoff all add to the effect that the fortress gives off

I now see why mojang does not get Grian to make their structures. Grian makes the structures into homes that would be end game in survival. Also as they use sea lanterns if in survival players get item from strange place. I do bad English

In my world I have a chest with netherwart blocks and dark oak logs and netherbrick, and aside from that I've done pretty much nothing. I'm still working on a cross between an ice spire biome city and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild inspired Zora's domain. It's all elevated above a manmade lake in an ice spire biome using different ice blocks, cyan glass, as well as prismarine and sea lanterns. This is what I was working on when I first made the comment of "hold my beer" because I was really heavily into build mode. While I was working on that, I kinda got burned out farming underwater temples for their blocks. I've since taken a bit of a break for probably about 3 or 4 months now. I've started touring through my world again though so likely I'll get back into heavy building again soon. Oh, I guess I also figured out where I was going to build this nether city, and built a cobblestone protected subway system to it. I've been playing in this world since 1.4 and it has a few strange bugs in it, but I'll still continue working in this world for as long as I play Minecraft.

@@adamfoda5559 My game has always been the same, to take existing towns and make them better, so these videos are really cool for me. Every now and again I'll make a whole town from scratch. This was going to be one of them because I created a nether portal in one town and slowly 1, 2, 3, and then finally like 9 or 10 villagers went through the portal into the nether because I didn't secure the portal wisely at first. So I figured I might as well do something with them.
