I've been posting updates on Twitter since I don't like posting very "work in progress" stuff here. There should be a link to it on my channel. Even though it looks like I haven't posted anything in months, that's not intentional. I have stuff I've been wanting to show off, but I've been dealing with hardware issues the last few months and literally can't load the game. Unfortunately it will probably still be like that for a few more months.

Wow, amazing work and attention to detail! Also you didn't have to duplicate the loading screens XD Is Etho the mascot of Minecraft? haha
@Ersatz777 жыл бұрын
The source intro is not needed, but the second loading screen is needed to wait for a randomizer to finish randomizing numbers. Also, no Etho is not the mascot of Minecraft, but he is one of the best Minecraft youtubers. I've had a Kakashi skin since I've got Minecraft, and before I knew of Etho. When I started playing Minecraft, Etho was not even as well known as he is now. I've always been a fan of Naruto so when I found my skin years ago, I just stuck with it (my skin in it's current state is basically a spoiler to Naruto).
@leotaku52167 жыл бұрын
That has to be one of the best Maps I have ever seen! Outstanding work! Do you plan to make some "Making Of"-Episodes for the different mechanics? (especially the loading screen and the modelwork are very interesting to me)

I would but I really don't have the best mic. So you probably won't have me explaining things until I get a proper headset. I have however been experimenting with timelapses, so maybe I'll upload some of those with me creating models, building the map, or something else that I can think of.

@Pacca647 жыл бұрын
It's still nice and blocky in places. Admittedly, the models have much smaller blocks, but it still has that distinct minecraft feel to it.
@Ersatz777 жыл бұрын
I had to do some heavy voxelization in order for the models to look as close as possible to the ones from Portal. Even the portal gun still looks really good for being voxelized: twitter.com/Ersatz_77/status/788292674486808577. If I wasn't limited to cubes or 22.5° angles, then I would probably just import the models directly from Portal.
@Pacca647 жыл бұрын
Do you think you can make a more voxelized resource pack for those with weaker computers? Everything looks really beautiful, but I can barely run minecraft properly as is. You could reuse some of your older models for it too.
@Ersatz777 жыл бұрын
pacguy64 I can't guarantee the map will work on low end computers. You need to allocate 6gb of ram to Minecraft, and have a graphics card with at least 2gb of vram to load the resource pack. Any specs lower, and Minecraft will crash and give an error about not being able to load the resource pack.
@Pacca647 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I was hoping that a less voxelized resource pack (or one with less models) would fix that.

Josiah Sanchez I'm not sure. With the new functions and the major syntax/command changes coming in 1.13, I wouldn't expect a new video soon. (However, I do post occasional updates for my map/other maps I'm helping out with on Twitter) The predicament I'm in is that I can update the map to functions and give myself more work updating the map to 1.13, or wait and work on things that aren't core mechanics of the map. Either way, both decisions aren't good from a development standpoint.
