each "room" interior is 6x3 and exterior is 6x5. the drop is 13 tall without the spikes and 12 tall counting the spikes... the top is 9 blocks from the middle so 19 counting the middle block.. any questions just reply to this comment

Quick heads up before you make all 9 mob fans you can just make 3 mob fans if you have a decent supply of iron, redstone, and feathers you can upgrade the width and distance like 3 times for height and width and 10 times for length

If anyone still wonders, I believe his mob spawner has wings that are 5X6 (with walls) and 3x5 (inside only). The blower blows up to 5/6 blocks, so keep that in mind when building. I don't believe height matters, as there are spikes at the bottom. The only upside to having it super tall, that I can see, is that the spawning area would be out of range and able to spawn mobs as you stand below it. Tho, that would be you have to make it about 22 blocks or taller. Personally, I made by 10 blocks tall, with three wings (each 3x5 on the inside).

you could use mob mashers instead of spikes because you can put looting upgrades in those and use absorption hoppers instead of the item collectors

i noticed with the fan, if you make your design 6 blocks, the mobs can often get stuck on the very edge. i fixed it by replacing the edges of the pit with ice to make mobs slide off. but it’s a heads up for anyone still trying to make this

i just did a box at y=0 with cyclic fans all along the edge that pushes the mobs in front of a crusher. Mobs can spawn with the fans on and the crusher can handle all of them. For the items i just have a wireless item node feeding into filing cabinets and it can handle the whole thing.

You should do a tutorial on a spawner with vector plates and a mob masher. Much easier technique and very efficient.

very interesting, I have built a fairly large mob spawner which uses water to flush mobs into the drop point where they fall 20 or so blocks landing at near death but i had been just manually farming them leveling up weapons, such as my manylum (spelling)and lead scythe. I did try to experiment with diamond spikes but the redstone was anoying, didnt know i could just place them on redstone blocks. That plus the item collecter/xp pylon thing seem like great upgrades to my existing design

Slabs are not considered a full block and do let light thru. If you've ever built a regular mob farm and only used a slab cieling, then wondered why it doesn't work during the day, that's why.

i built mine without the drop (just fans blowing the mobs into spikes) and it turns out the endermen just teleport out before dying. i take it the drop helps keep that from happening?

It's more that they take more fall damage which helps keep them stunned while the spikes keep hurting them. They still may occasionally get out.

So bizarre thing for me. The item cable just will not connect to the item collector. No matter what I do. I even tried the bundle cable know that it can also move items. Nothing. Mobs are spawning fine and its collecting fine. Things could be worse.

I know this video was years ago but i just got into SF4 about 3 days ago and only just started playing vanilla MC about 2m ago, been playing mainly pixelmon and pokehaan craft 2. I built this in about 25 min but i am only having a small issue with some mobs spawning on roof, at first I used full blocks cause thats what it loos like in video, i then changed it to 1/2 blocks and they still spawn any suggestions. Thanks in advance. The only mobs that annoy me are the creepers, I dont want a full brick base.

@@DiviningLight232010 Sure thing. Try putting torches on top. That should stop anything but enderman from spawning on top. If that doesn’t work, you had the right idea with the 1/2 slabs, but you have to make sure they are being placed on the bottom half of the space.

Not really, but higher up will cause more fall damage, killing the faster.

The redstone under the spikes is what activates the spikes if you are using diamond spikes.

You said 30 blocks from original spawn, does that still happen when in default world? Or is it 30 blocks from personal spawn? (Do I need to move my bed)

Sounds like you're building it on a different modpack. In a Skyblock world mobs have no where else to spawn so they will be forced to spawn in a mob farm like this since it's their only option. Ina regular world the game can spawn them almost anywhere so they will spawn more above ground.

I normally do 6, counting the blocks the fan is on. Too much more and the fans won’t blow them into the hole unless you add fan upgrades.

If you are playing with Prestige on you can not access the fans till you buy access with Prestige Points

I had a non-stackable item filter in my pigmen farm but it would separate ANY non-stackable and doesn't need a filter for each non-stackable item

use cylics item tubes and item transfer things. they will take every item in a chest and transport it and you can blacklist items so they dont go through. i use it to dump wood sticks and leaves from my bonzia trees into lava if you need help i can try to make a video about how

The drop does additional damage and also keeps them from jumping out. I like the drop in case I have a lot spawn. Nothing’s worse then a skeleton shooting a creeper and the creeper popping. Lol

There doesn't have to be a specific height. More height just means more fall damage. But any height falling onto the spikes will kill the mobs. :)

Pokemon's Theories It needs to be a minimum of thirty blocks from the spawn point. Also, the biome it is in will effect what and how many mobs. If it’s an oceans biome you will rarely get a spawn.

The biome can effect hat type of mobs spawn and how often. If you're not getting the items you need, you may need to rebuild a spawner in a different biome.

Built everything then gave up and did something else. Its hard to follow a tutorial that doesn't show the base structure. Its all good to 'finish' it but its not worth my time to watch the video over and over to hopefully get the size right. I enjoyed the majority of the tutorials until this one but this has thrown me off.
