Minecraft trident from cardboard real working toy diy

After several requests from viewers I finally made a minecraft trident toy. It has small switch on the bottom to make it extend telescopically. Any questions feel free to ask in comments.

Somehow I keep missing how you attached the other end of the rubber band to make it extend. Do you have a link to any of the specs and steps written somewhere? Trying to make one of my sons costumes, I'm doing armor and this would blow his mind

On the bottom it loops on the small piece of wood dowel, then I attached two strings to each one of those rubber bands and left them extra long and put the strings through the 2 holes opposite of each other ( all that should be in the video) but what’s not shown is That I adjust the tension by pulling on the strings and then just made a knot on the string and the tension actually was strong enough to where the knot was pulled into the cardboard and not sticking out. Note: I reinforced all the point of string/rubber band attachments by gluing small cut pieces of popsicle sticks ( super glue works good for that) Hope it helped , let me know if you need more info, I could post some cut footage here)

Fuzzy Hat do you have the trident head measurements anywhere online? And do you recommend any certain type of cardboard or would some random boxes from work so the trick as long as I paint it? (I work in a restaurant so we boxes in all the time)

Any cardboard would work, I usually try to use same thickness for one project. Unfortunately I don’t have any notes with measurements. But here are some measurements: short points of fork 4 5/8, long point all the down ( including the part that attaches/slides over the main shaft is 8 1/8. Over all width 5 3/4 . Each painted square is 1 1/8. The thickness is 1 1/4, but that will depend on cardboard thickness used.

Both to and bottom measure 15 inches, top part is partially stays inside the bottom part about 1 inch.
