Hi Mate, I have just tried these settings in my garden, which I use as a test bed (various coins and other things buried) , and they are truly amazing. I just found a 1973 1c about 15 cm down , which was not part of the stuff I buried. Thanks so much, I cannot wait to get back on our local park again.

Hi Steve, Not had much chance to get out recently, but a friend asked me to look for a small gold earring in a very small area next to a beach foot path Anyway, I tried for a couple of hours using factory default Park 2, but there was so much trash I had no luck. Anyway, I thought I would spend 15 mins using your modified field 1 setting and wow I got a 1980 20c coin and 1999 5c coin even though I had been over the area before pretty well. Thanks again @@coilsandcoinsdetecting

Here in the UK I dug a modern 2p at 11 inches a few days back and a one thousand nine hundred year old artefact at 5 inches.

Awesome. Finding deep targets is a skill that takes some time to master, so well done! I’ll put together a video at some stage that focuses on deep targets, but this one is really for beginners chasing their first few “easy” coins… good luck out there!

Fantastic video! Im changing to these settings. Do you have any tutorials on what to dig with deeper signals? The double bounce is great for the surface but what about 3 or 4 bars down when there is not that clear guidance? Cheers

With deeper targets you’re looking for repeatable signals, and when you change angles on it you want to hear the same repeatable signal. Of course it’s not always that simple, because it depends on how the target is sitting (on edge etc), and if there’s anything else (metal) nearby. The more targets you dig, the better you’ll get at judging things - take notice of what the signal sounds like and the numbers are doing BEFORE you dig, and then you’ll start to notice patterns… Good luck!

I’m curious as to how much time was actually spent in finding these coins. I appreciate your skill, technique and instruction. I’m very new. But did these finds take you many hours or minutes? Thanks for the time you take to provide these instructional videos. They are very good.

A good question. It really depends on the location, because if you detect an area that has been detected by others previously, you can go for an hour and only find one or two coins. If you’re lucky enough to find an area that hasn’t been done before, it’s possible to find 10-20 coins in an hour (if they’re there). Given the popularity of metal detecting these days, the challenge is finding these “virgin” areas. Private permissions are definitely the way to go. Thanks for your comment, and for watching!
