@Mike s If I had to choose I would stick with the Equinox 800. The vanquish 540 I think is a good beginner machine but an advanced detectorist could still use it. There’s so much more you can do with the Equinox series as far as tweaking and customization to what you want. The Vanquish is more like a turn on and go machine with less settings.
