I got the M8 last month, and I really like it. Yesterday, I got the M9 both from the Placerville Hardware store, and I'm hoping to test them out at the beach asap.

Love the video. On the separation test could you show what the screen looks like when a circle sweep is done around the target from different angles? In the wild when I get an iffy repeatable signal, that drags from the upper Ferrous limit to the center line, I do that method and sometimes the correct vdi flashes up. Curious to see if that reaction happens on the block test. Keep up the content, you’re a true mentor.

I've had mine now and have 7 hours now in 3 evenings. Same area's as with the m8 and m11, I'm digging considerably more 90's falsing iron. Also, the vdi numbers are weighting higher. I'm going to put another 10 hours at least on it in the same area, but for me, I'm probably going back to the m11.

@IffySignals Yes, I have rings, etcetera with heavy fishing line and test in that ground in the soil conditions dialed in with and without stability has been about the same as the other coils, on and off filter and trying to maintain at least 23 sensitivity. Thank you.

Now that you did this test days apart from the Xterra Elite, how would you summarize them both?

The Elite is a 700/900 with less features. The manticore is a level above them.

Great video I’m curious did you run the coil with no discrimination? That will be a great coil for water hunting the 11” is just too large

Hey Mark, definitely will be great for the water. I have had mine in the water a bunch of times during testing. Its glides with the smoother profile. I showed discrim and no discrim.

What is the depth difference between the 11” vs the 9”?

11” has a bit more in clean ground but i have noticed the 9” punch a bit deeper in trashy sites. Thats normal being less under the coil.

I will bit if you don’t want to wait the 9 is the way to go unless you need it for tight areas. More depth and better separation than the 8.

The M11 was super heavy, glad the M9 is out. I like the larger coil so I modified the M11 to be just like this M9, supper light weight and glides through water. just an experiment.

How does the 11-in coil compare to the 9-in coil in the elevated iron test? I seem to remember the 11 inch went through the test with no problems and no failures also.

The elliptical shape of the M8 coil is great for getting in between signals in iron and modern trash infested areas. I say get the M9 and M8 coil. I also have a Deus 2 and wish that XP would come out with an elliptical coil. Can never have enough tools lol.

Hi awesome video! I have a doubt hope you can answer it. I just bought a manticore and was wondering if i take in water will the coil fill up because the coil cover is just snapped in and not water sealed. Do you take off the cover to let the water out or sand?thanks

Thank you! better to leave it on. Does fine being so close to the coil. You can take it off after and rinse it down.

Glad I waited and didn’t purchase the 8x5. Iffy what’s your go to favorite 1,2or 5 region and audio theme? Just got manticore and trying to figure it out. Mainly do old homesites and relic hunting with it right now. Coming from Deus 1 it’s different. Thanks for info and videos.

Thanks Jay, agree on the large iron. I don’t want a non ferrous tone on it. The ability to let it back in when needed is important. You have both with this machine without having to restrict its unmasking abilities.
