Mines of the West

Күн бұрын

In this installment of the Empire Mine series, Justin and I climb to the top of the inclined winze and explore some of what I believe is the 300 level.
The '300' level is very extensive, in part 4 we will finish our exploration of the 300 level.
This level contains miles of tunnel with dozens of junctions and branches. This was the closest I've ever felt to being lost in a mine.
Thanks for watching!

This remains one of the best mines I have ever explored... I loved the graffiti on this level and I'm glad you got that winze that went to the center of the earth. Looking forward to seeing how you filmed the other levels given the great stuff that is coming up.

Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places Thanks Frank! This mine ended up being the most extensive exploration that I've ever done. It's a very special mine indeed.

Great stuff, that is what mine exploring is all about! Love seeing the winches/rails/pipes still in situ, we don't get that very often in the mines we look at, it's all usually ripped out and moved to the next mine.

Jeez, the miners must have spent 1/3 of their time just walking back and forth to the area they're working on.

Planning my next trip to Monte Cristo, Aug 19-20th. Probably going up the Glacier Basin trail and looking for that mine you did a video on. I'm trying to find some more stuff to go explore up there. Your more that welcome to join if your available.

Jayce and Jeremy's Adventures. I would usually be very interested, however that is the weekend of the solar eclipse down here in Oregon so that's going to get top priority. Thanks for letting me know though!

How close did you wind up getting to the lit 'public incline' area with the sample cart and man lift? I've heard of a great deal of flooding in the mine, but bot in your videos. I wonder on which level the flooding starts. great video, btw

The timbers that look black, are they burned? If not, why are they so dark like that? Here in southern Nevada, timbers in mines almost always look like they day they were put in the mine.

Vegas Cycling Freak No they’re just saturated with water and rotting which turns them a dark brown/ black color

I remember in my above ground msha. Training about some kids over in Washington state that died from carbon monoxide poisoning! Even though they had explored the mine the day before and nothing happened! But that night they had a bon fire and it was to close to the portal and it ( the mine ) sucked in deadly carbon monoxide throughout the night and then in the morning they decided to go explore! Need I say more? Noel Robinett showed us that film from the sunshine mine! Just saying! Use meters? If you absolutely have to go in them! Might just save not your own skin but some one you love!

John Nelson Oh yes I always use a four-gas monitor when I explore mines! I have encountered low oxygen several times, the monitor has saved my life. I’m glad you’re advocating though, not everyone is aware of how dangerous bad air is. Thanks for watching.

I DON'T CLAIM TO BE TYPIST,YOU CLAIM TO BE A MINE EXPLORER,WHICH YOU AREN'T. THAT TYPING MISTAKE WAS ON PURPOSE. YOU TOUR THE MINES NOT EXPLORE THEM. WHERE IS YOUR ROPE.BY THE WAY YOU DIDN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION. THE LIGHT.
@MinesoftheWest

Oh do you think this is my job? It's not, and you're not providing criticism - you're just complaining. Also, where did I claim to be a mine explorer? And you didn't even ask a question...The light? Is that what you're concerned about? What exactly is your question...? Again, I can barely understand your comments, I'm trying my best.
