I think a contributing factor was Tong proposing to Ming's sister; Joe was the person who fully loved Ming and was sweet and kind even when Ming was purposefully cruel so losing both his obsession Tong as well as the stand-in set him off, especially when Tong lied and said Joe would be paired up with Sol if he took Tong's place in the movie (Joe was already paired with Sol originally, he wouldn't be if he took Tong's place) because for him it would be history repeating with him being left alone by both the 'original' and the stand-in. What I found interesting though was the fight at the apartment; Ming starts out arrogant until Joe raises his voice and doesn't back down or try to placate Ming, which is the complete opposite of Joe up to this point. Then Ming goes softer, trying to remind Joe how happy they were (and confirming Joe's worst fear that Ming was thinking of Tong when they had sex 😢😭) and he stays soft and begging until Tong calls and lies about *why* Joe is trying to replace him (the truth being Tong is a self-centred primadonna who expects the entire cast to reschedule and work around *his* schedule rather than the other way around and the director was sick of it) and then Ming went back to aggressive because he already lost Tong to his sister because he loves her most and thinks he owes her for her getting sick saving his life when they were young, but he will NOT lose Tong's stand-in/Joe to someone else. But then the scenes where Joe is locked up, we can truly see that Ming has no real idea of what he's doing to Joe's life with his actions; he thinks everything he's done to Joe and his career can be undone with his family's money, probably because he grew up and lives in a world where everything can be fixed with money, so when Joe is telling Ming that he's destroying everything Joe built for himself, he doesn't get the weight of it, because he's never had to struggle through blood, sweat and tears to built a life for himself on his own just to have it torn away by the person he loves so they can (from Joe's point of view) be the saviour of the person *they* love, even when Ming says he doesn't know why Joe doesn't believe that he loves him and is doubting their *entire* relationship, not just the sex. Like he wasn't purposefully cruel multiple times; 'don't get cocky, you're just a stand-in. What is in you to be jealous of.' 'we're not lovers' (while living with him 🙄 ) and let's not forget him being all over Tong in front of Joe when he thought Joe was 'flirting' with the female lead before a stunt she was scared of, and just generally being possessive and mean yet still baffled that Joe doesn't think Ming had the smallest amount of *real* romantic feelings for Joe since he was Tong's romantic stand-in from the beginning. Then Ming buys groceries like he didn't lock Joe up and ruin his life and goes to Joe's apartment, adamant that he will wait for Joe as long as it takes. And then Joe goes over a cliff and Ming is in a situation that he can't fix with money; Joe is dead and he died thinking Ming was only still after him because he didn't want to lose Tong's near-perfect stand-in and that their entire relationship was one-sided and also knowing that the only reason Joe took the job was because Ming and Tong's actions got Joe blacklisted and he couldn't get any other stunt-man work. Devastating someone you love by only going after them to pretend they're someone else during sex is bad enough, destroying their hard-earned livelihood to please the person you *wish* was yours is despicable, but realising you were a large contributing factor to their *death* and not realising that you loved them too until *afterwards* ...that I'm looking forward to seeing because it is literally the only way Ming could possibly ever *hope* to redeem himself enough for fans to want them together, that and realising Tong is evil and working to expose his disgusting true face obviously.

It's just us viewers seeing him the same, in the story world Joe looks like a new guy. It bugged me too initially until I saw just how good the 1st Joe actor was and then was glad he wasn't replaced with the other guy (who we do see in the series occasionally when they show us Joe from someone else pov)

Omg, so insane and abusive 🤮 Honestly, it's getting harder and harder to find a proper series to watch😥.... I want to enjoy watching movies with healthy relationship and good attitude towards partners🌱, not romanticized toxicity. I appreciate actors and their efforts, but I absolutely hate the way some series represent "love". Because such irreverent attitude towards another person - isn't love at all
