I am glad someone posted this footage on the master wong video for the 6 & 1/2 pole. I never expected such in depth use of a wooden pole! ! I notice when you see the end of the pole shaking, it is not flimsy, but the man seems to hold it so loosely that it is sensitive to any direction, like some sort of quivering energy, I'm not quite sure..

@@johntonya324 It wasn't bamboo. He used the longer and heavier bamboo poles only for practicing his waist and arm strength. For real fights and all the different forms, he was using the shorter wood poles.
Someone can say to me from wich lineage is this sifu ? His pole form is amazing! Thank you very much.

It is Wing Chun. But the pole technique was supposed to be from Shaolin which could have originated from some long spear technique. Sharp weapons like spear was banned in the South by the Manchurian government. So, they used wood or bamboo poles instead and wood poles or bamboo poles were readily found in the marketplace where people used them to carry heavy loads. Hawkers and gangsters used to fight using wood and bamboo poles. This guy is known to be one of the best real street fighters working in a marketplace fighting against gangsters in Hong Kong.

和五郎八卦棍相似,楊五郎出家於五台山,把楊家槍演变為棍,楊再興跟岳飛比槍平手。

Not many people are going to learn the long pole now because it require a big space for practice.
