Join me for this last big step in the journey towards the Mini Transat: the 1000 miles qualification!
A 1000-mile loop aboard Napadélis, between Brittany and Ireland, solo and unassisted.
Before setting off, the longest solo journey I had made in a Mini 6.50 was 300 miles...
I departed from my home port of Perros-Guirec to reach Conningbeg in Ireland, then round the Rochebonne plateau and the island of Ré before finally returning home.
There are two peculiarities during this qualification:
- the first is that the route is non-competitive, so there are no competitors around, we are truly alone.
- the second is that it is a test before the Mini Transat ! To see how we handle a real long distance solo journey.
And it is very useful because we go through many phases and emotions! A memorable experience and a big step in my progression.
My boat:
Name: Napadélis
Number: 882
Category: Mini 6.50 Series
Model: Pogo 3
Size: 6.50m of performance (and pleasure too)
