Any downside to the mini transats with the wide bow? I know they are drier.

Why does the bow sink so much in modest waves?
@HM-vo1jf Жыл бұрын
Because it's going like the clappers. 17knots (31kph) down wind with only 6.5m to push back. Damn look at that crazy sail area. Spaceballs ludicrous speed.

@@HM-vo1jf It's because the mast needs to stepped about 50 cm sternwards. Planing hull, the correct shape bow, wide beam, everything good but mast needs to come back a little to stop it plowing the waves, it is after all a planing hull.

That might help a little, although you would loose mainsail area which would probably be worse. In the above example, by far most of the sail area is in front of the bow anyway. Tiny change to sail trim/shape seems like a better move than ruining a good mainsail/mast position.

That thing is maxed out, full bananas. Not worth changing anything. I'd just be happy to hold on long enough to survive.

@@HM-vo1jf Most of sail is in the bow, but all attached to the mast, look at the vectors of what is pulling the bow down and it is lack of length from mast-step to bow (ok, it is a short boat with lots of sail area). Moving the mast sternwards would see the vectors (forces and directions) change. It might prevent the bow plowing the waves and see it, how it is now, slowing heavily when it plows a wave. I would love to have the $$ to buy one of those to sail it in strong weather, love it!!!

Love the video and the accomplishment, but the soundtrack for this video is missing the mark.
