Good to see , sometimes all it takes to have local RC track , friendly budget racer like mini b and little ambition,

Love following your race series. Do you have a link for the 1mm shims?

The drama of high stakes racing! It was not clean, but it was fair. I am having a hard time understanding why you are moving the upper shocks to the outside. In my mind, a leaned over shock has more room or distance to work with the finner undulations, but admittedly don't have any clue. I think the hard arms are going to change the poise of the car for sure and your car is going to begin its turn faster. I noticed it just running in a parking lot. I have the same HR servo saver and it is sloppy, mine is at least. I have mine tightend down further vs what I could see in yours, but my servo is also not as strong as yours. Diff tuning is your next adventure I hope. A tighter diff should help with push by putting more power to the outside. However what else is a mystery to me, and I put the gear diff back in mine because I didn't want to trash it. Green car was monstering you through the infield. He was driving the line, looked like you were driving the curbs. You are changing dirctions twice as many times as him. The push going into it is the cause no doubt, having to dodge the pinch. But green does the whole thing in one arc after the pinch sometimes. I don't know what the solution is, looser car or less steering input or or or etc, but your path is costing you time. Shorter distance vs faster pace is a compromise of time. If this was a Hollywood movie, I would be leaning over with a foot up on box of parts, smoking a cigar looking you right in the eyes, telling you that you need to use all of the track because that is what is for. The voice over of your inner dialog would be that I don't even make the a-main and you are drinking champagne. I really enjoy this whole series.

@@tomconnors8165 Great feedback! episode 4 in the series will be tuning the car now that I found a set of tires that seem to work the way I wanted. I also have a diff in the mail pile that I want to test so I may do that the race after for episode 5.

Free to comment. I wonder if adding packers inside the shocks to lower the off road vehicle to a smooth track is worth trying / a shorter shock). Silicone fuel tubing or Shock oh rings provide a cushion instead of a solid bump stop. One can also add tubing outside the shock to limit down travel if needed? Back in the day I used to add weight to the floor of the chassis on indoor on road . With the faster motor you have available the extra weight will not slow you down on the straight but might give you an advantage on the corner? Good luck with the racing. 🇦🇺

Good point! I do have limiters inside the shocks. I think I have 4mm of shims inside the front shocks which limits up travel to about 13mm of ride height. In the rear shocks I have 7mm of shims inside the shock which gives up travel of about 14mm. Adding fuel tubing to the front might help stop the roll in the front which might be helpful. I do have some weights I could add which may help as well. Thanks for the tips!

The HR engine plate was a good upgrade , slotted and better heat distribution which you get better performance the cooler you keep Everything “”” a lot people don’t realize heat generated from the motor beats up everything connected like center diffs skipper clutches . Do you guys run the ball diffs ?
@lawton70Ай бұрын
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I am running the mip ball diff in mine. It seems to work better than the gear diff i have been looking for a sealed gear diff for these so if you see one out there let me know.

Smart “ getting lil fan blowing over , need a baby heat sink , the positive psi cfm might slow you down, better turn it around jk . You don’t need too but if ever need to move more air drill holes in the windshields now this cars flat so I’d put holes by the motor do when fan blows over heat gets out instead heating the battery 🔋. Heat always rises if it can

Looks like a push on corner exit?
@lawton70Ай бұрын
@@trevorfurlotte yeah, car was a bit pushy in general. I think i overdid the rear traction compound and not enough on the front. Will have that sorted out for the next race.

@@lawton70 I also ditched the 40wt front and went with 37.5 and 35

Ok 👌 now I know other people love racing the mini b 😂, I went through a couple mini t before mini b came out . Can’t really consider what I do racing because I’m by myself, what motors ESCs are you guys using ? Is it spec , going check out hack fab for wheels 🛞 ect .
@lawton70Ай бұрын
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw thanks! I do love racing. The motors that guys seem to be using are the older 2030 size hobbywing motors, the 2430 size surpass motors, the furitek mini b combo, and the spektrum all in one. Lots of options. A motor about 5800-6000kv seems to be about right.
