I'm too old to bother with all of it anymore, but I have three small lighted trees with tiny ornaments. I put my collection of snowmen on the mantle and my nativity scene on my buffet table. I gave my grand daughter the rest, all the pearl strands and garlands, larger trees, large glass ornaments and antiques, handpainted ones and a collection of Santas, and miniature tin toy ornaments. She has her own house this year for the first time. I love the thought of her enjoying all the decorating her own house.

Having a "trendy tree" each year sounds like a good idea. We don't have room for a tree, but I love wreaths and bouquets, lights and festoons of greenery.

Also, the tiny books would make a cute gift. I carry little notebooks like that in my purse to jot ideas, grocery lists, etc. You could bundle a few together with a ribbon as a gift. :) Thanks for all the inspiration.

Bless you! I remember how we felt when our last three children moved out the same year even out of state. Quite a change! We surely missed them. Eventually they moved back now my husband and I have moved out of state. Crazy,! We still miss them but do live very near one of our sons! It is wonderful to have people to love and to have members that miss each other! ❤️

Decorations are up at my house but a LOT of decluttering to be done. Getting through the stacks of belongings I brought home after my parents passed away is proving more challenging than I expected...baby steps. LOL ❤ The French market is a good idea, and, in later yrs if you tire of the plain metal, you can enamel them or spray paint them matte black. I was tiring of a rusty looking bucket I had, so I sprayed it matte and nie I have a “ new” bucket. I find that when it looks different, it opens my mind to new and different uses.

I put up 7 trees every year! Master bedroom, alcove, dinning room, den, formal living room has three trees, one big main tree and two medium trees!!!!! Love it!

I felt this year should be a memory year for our tree. I usually do a woodland theme along with the Nativity ornaments on a tree. This year I put all homemade or gifted ornaments on our tree with colored lights and tinsel. A 70s tree look for sure, including a disco ball. I just wanted all my adult kids to come home and smile at all the memories. I only have one adult teen at home and in 2023 I will be an empty nester. I am trying to put memories in each room. I love the little books you added to your tree. I put a basket of the favorite stuffed animals and Christmas books under the tree. I hope to decorate the dollhouse for Christmas. I have a five year old goddaughter that loves playing with her godsiblings old toys.

I have had battery candles in all my front windows and I put them in different crystal holders. They come on at night and turn off at dawn. It's so cozy and welcoming as well as makes me feel more secure for some reason. I love your idea of packing the xmas bins back up with the every day things. Good idea!

So honest Q: how do u get dried flowers to not fall apart as your working with them?? I know they sell them on Amazon but they wondered if she got them elsewhere...I didn't find them at Target or a few other local places and didn't necessarily want to order online.
