Ball point pens are the best I've used so far plotting. This was done with a cheap disposable ball point pen i.imgur.com/JuaYywY.jpg

Hey, what power source did you use? Did u just wire a PC power supply up to the CNC shield? Also, all the stuff on the breadboard would that be necessary for it to work properly or is that just a personal touch? I'm looking to build one myself and I am new to the arduino electronics scene. I have a knowledge of this stuff but not much. If you could send some schematics of the basics needed for this project and answer my questions that would be awesome! Thanks.

Hi buddy very nice project!.I built 3 axis CDROM CNC like you but I got no idea how to convert files to draw a circuit with this device so could you show how are the procedures to get the circuit drawing and how did you geti the Gcode to load into Arduino?I mean: a) What schematics programa did you use? b) What format did you save the final PCB format in? c) What program did you use to vectorize the drawing and what to generate the gcode? the shield L293D has a librairy . it not directly connected to pin arduino because has IC to fast Freqancy commande ....

I uses the same electronics as ypu used that is ( adafruit motor shield, arduino uno) i uses same softwares as you used but the dimensions and size of my machine is different so when i uploded the gcode files the machine strted ploting but it does not plot anything it just making lines

Good morning,mr.A.Aabida.,I Am beginner in electronic but mechanically I am strong.IHv assembled the mini plotter sys.test run the stepper motor all ok .then I down loaded the gcode and did proccecing in processing -3,here the problem started,after pressing "P" and selecting com port all ok till this. But as soon as I press "g" for sending code to arduino board ,the code are going from my pc ,line by line but stepper not running,it seems there is no communication between board and L293 D shield.pls help me to find solution to this problem .thanks
