My passenger side headlight also has the same tab broken. Looks like a defect.... On a safety item. Maybe we should all report that failure to the NHTSA and get them to fix that flimsy tab. Thanks for an interesting led bulb swap video. I have my lights set for daytime running lights. Xenon's don't handle PWM without flicker so I can't dim them for DRL use... Full bright headlight day or night. Can you test / try setting PWM (assuming you have a coding app and tool) for DRL use of the headlight and see how they handles the reduced power / hopefully no flicker?

The tab was my fault, I tried keeping the headlight mounted to the front clip when removing the front once and it didn’t have enough support and it fell and broke I don’t think the ballast controller for the Xenons like that, as it wants to put out a certain amount of voltage and current and I’m sure the margin is very small for differences

@@zevisgarage I'm wondering if the controller for the LEDs you installed can handle the PWM...did you still leave the ballasts in or bypass them?

@@underourrock it’s just a bulb replacement, it still uses the factory ballast. No controller needed for these

@@zevisgarage there should still be a controller chip inside the bulb itself. LEDs don't use ballasts. They can be engineered to work with them in existing situations, so I think my question still stands, but your point about the ballast not liking PWM could very well be the issue... Still think it would be good to test if you can lower the brightness by 50%. (might be an 70 or 80% duty cycle... It isn't necessarily linear) without flicker. Or rather and experiment to see how much lower duty cycle you can use with no flicker. Totally willing to accept you're right, but since the led itself doesn't need a ballast, I'm curious.

@@underourrock I’m sure it converts whatever the xenon takes into a more compatible form of energy for the LED. I’m probably going to dig more into this as I’m kinda curious now
