Thanks George needed to see how it was done so I did not damage to the visor. I used a triangular plastic removal tool from a phone service kit. It has to be done from the top as you showed. I had to replace mine on a 2008 Cooper S with black trim (got mine on ebay as well you can get white or black). Mine had a proper switch clip not the copper strip. However followed your advice and pushed it in open, did the test to make sure it worked and clipped in on the top. Took 5 minutes mostly to find the tools and a light to see what I was doing. Good video and very useful. The drivers mirror is Ok but the cover does not hold up properly so I will get another one and replace as well. Mine cost £15, Mini wanted £93 plus fitting which is £17 per AW unit (6 minutes) and it would have to back ordered.

Worked. The removal was not difficult but required more oomph than I expected. Color is just right and certainly better than $200+ my shop would have billed me for (the entire visor).

I have a 2014 S. Mine are completely different and you can’t just replace the mirrors, you have to replace the entire visor. The ones you have are much better! Glad they redesigned them.

OK, I have a problem. Not sure if you know the wiring, but I decided to just disconnect the drivers side light connection because I don’t use it. When I put the visor down, the light comes on and stays on and I was worried that it might run out the battery. The easiest solution to me was to just disconnect the wires that put power to the visor. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but now all of the lights in the upper portion of the mini, including the passenger side mirror and the reading lights above the rearview mirror have no power. When I tried to disconnect the little connector on the visor, it broke. I’m wondering which wires I can splice back together to regain power, but to bypass the visor on the driver side. Any ideas?

Got a e90 330i for sale lemans blue. Let me no if you want a new project. Iv done rocker cover, ccv, vanos solenoids, oil cooler gaskets, water pump thermostat, new drilled disks all round with all new pads, braided lines all round, new replica 19”M3 csl alloys in black. All that’s left to do is front and rear subframe overhaul,with new bushings,and arms,the sump gasket, I was going to do rod bearing while I’m there as I did notice small metal in oil filter, and gearbox service with new sleeves, and would need a front end re spray due to scratch on the bonnet and front bumper for all the stone chips,
