This is the all-new Mini Countryman 2024 in Favored trim, presented at the Lyone Car Show 2023.
The new Mini Countryman has a completely new design both on the exterior and the interior. Mini Countryman will now be available as BEV instead of PHEV. For those who are still not feeling ready to switch to an electric power train, there will still be available petrol mild hybrid, and diesel options.

I don't get some of the negative comments on this thread. It looks like an evolution (slightly more angular) of the current Countryman design. What are people expecting? Would people be happier if they shrunk the overall dimensions of the car and made it more boring inside and out? Most cars use a mix of soft and hard plastic and avoid leather for environmental reasons, and most cars are more expensive than they should be. It's what I would expect of a Mini at this point in time...

Mini lost it with this one. The switches and quirks were what made the Countryman unique. That is gone now. So sad...

Sales will define the outcome, I still like it. The change of the headlights from round to kind of square bugs me, but then I remember the original MIni Clubman had a squared off front end very different to the Mini we all know.

Well, Chinese love Land rovers and China it's JLR best selling market... That's the reason majority of car brands in China go for similar design language... But why does mini need such design? Only answer is to please Chinese market.... 😅 Countryman has officially become compact suv from being mini..

Now i see why people are going for the exclusive trim instead of the Normal trim. There's too much plastic and once they get old you can hear them very clearly cracking and all sorts. I think the current generation is absolutely perfect, this one is just gonna have to grow on me for awhile.

All the plastic in the Mini compared to BMW was OK, because Mini was way cheaper. The new generation of Minis (BMW platforms) are as expensive as the BMW with the same platform, BUT all the plastic in the Mini remains!? WTF !? With this car, you buy a BMW, same price as a BMW, but plastic plastic plastic everywhere! Only difference is the freaky design!

Ich glaube noch nicht mal das die was spezielles rauchen, sie obliegen wohl dem allgemeinen Trend und müssen sich dem zukünftigen Publikum zuwenden, die nunmal solche Vorlieben haben. Ich habe selbst zwei MINI´s gefahren(R50 und R56) aber die neue Generation ist für mich auch nichts mehr(zu fett und zu weit weg vom eigentlichen MINI), wie so viele andere neuen Modelle vieler Marken. Schon allein bei der Vorstellung dieser Fahrzeuge steht das Infotainment/Konnektivität klar im Fokus und nicht das Fahren selbst.

I own 1 of the first R60s, a 2010 Countryman. In 12 years, they have taken a car that is an almost lower luxury than a BMW but is so damn comfortable and turned it into a 1990s Eurobox. It screams Renault and is so damn plasticy that it looks so cheap but so over the normal price for any car. Smh.

Mini have taken inspiration from the new Landrover Defender for the exterior styling, the Volvo XC40 for the interior air vents, the cloth interior dash etc is similar to the Peugeot 3005 SUV. I like it 👍. Just like they did when they produced the Mini Paceman which was mini’s version of the RangeRover Evoque SUV.

I have the new BMW Active Tourer as a 230e and I'm astonished to recognize so many BMW parts (door and roof buttons, buttons on the steering wheel, even the one for the trailer hitch is exactly the same...). It's a bit too obvious if you ask me... And way too much plastic compared to BMW by the way (which already has quite a few plastic parts, but it remains reasonsable). Not the way I see a Mini to be honest...

As a big MINI lover and driver of several MINI’s over the years. I had a 2004 hatch, a 2015 Countryman and still drive 2018 Countryman. To be really honest…..they lost me a bit on the overall design. I always liked the fresh and playfull design but this is not really playfull anymore. With this design they really went overboard for me for in my opinion it looks way too minimalistic inside and outside. Also the fact that everything needs to be adjusted on the round screen is a real gamebreaker for me. I like buttons and knobs that you can easily find and feel blindfolded so no eyes off the road to handle these things. Now you need to get your eyes off the road to adjust things, it’s just not safe at all. Too many brands go the Tesla way of minimalistic designs and controls. It doesn’t look like a car anymore. Nope, not gonna buy one anymore if they keep on going this way. Currently I bought a Kia ev6 now and it will be delivered somewhere in April. Sorry MINI, you lost me. Even my dealer was surprised that I left them, he said “you were the last person I expected to leave MINI behind”.

Having any one of the Mini from the line up is fashion statement. This new Countryman....Waaaaay too much plastic - I bet the same for the coupes and the rest :( all that good looking matte finish plastic will become shiny from no-care oily hands and fingers. I personally like the styling inside & out from the 2017-2019. No tach behind the steering wheel... a no-no for me - Unless the HUD is free of charge.

The soy meter is off the charts with the new mini... and the interior material quality is appaling. BMW knows that new customers know nothing about value for money and don't care about soft touch plastics, but it is clearly worse than the previous gen. 20 year olds will love the round tablet in the dash though... disgusting trends...

Looks and feels CHEAP. A very concerted effort to take COST of the product, inside and out. Price however will still be premium. A very sad mistake overall. Dilute and delete everything that gave MINI a distinctive, premium look and feel and make it cheaper in CHINA. Wow, just wow.

Bahahaa. No. You don’t have an off road vehicle with this. Not at all. What do you get if you lower an SUV like this by 10mm? A car. The whole SUV marketing thing is a scam - car companies needed a new angle to sell vehicles to all these mugs, so most of these “SUV’s” are just wagons or hatches, mostly only driving two wheels, and jacked up 10mm. To give an “off road” image😂 this combined with other factors makes them harder to park versus a standard hatch, because you can’t see your corners, so the very people they’re sold to (parents) to drive around town - it’s impractical. I see plenty of people having to park, and re park in these cars because they can’t see crap. It’s hilarious. Reduced visibility is also dangerous to other users. People. Stop buying this unnecessary rubbish. I had two brothers and we got by in a Datsun 120Y, and small station wagons. You don’t NEED it, but marketers make you WANT it selling you a lifestyle you don’t NEED. don’t be suckers.
