Mini elevaTOUR: Live Sciences Library with elevator at UT Austin Main Tower

(3-15-2016) This is an amazing building with an awesome old elevator. What is so unique about this elevator is it is just big enough for a book cart as the main purpose of this building back in the day was primarily library space. Back then the library was also on a closed stack system meaning you could not go back and get the books, rather an attendant did. Enjoy as we look around this amazing library and of course ride the elevator.

The service elevators at the Patricians apartments are very similar to the stacks elevators. They too are 17 floor Otis elevators from this time period, with swing doors and automatic two-speed inner doors, black buttons, and a very similar cab. The only differences is that those elevators do not have a floor indicator and they are slightly bigger.

Oh and it would have made sence if they put windows on the innerdoors because it takes away some of the point of the windows on the swing doors well since it was installed in like the 60s they never thought of it
