Yes! Just finished section 1. Simply the best course in PHP I have encountered, by far. I initially thought it will be boring as I am used to project based approach, but I am happy that I was wrong. I am learning it side-by-side the PHP official documentation, and with most documentation it gives more things to ask and research than to make you understand the language itself, but these videos expound and explain things that are in the documentation, and in fact makes you learn it better. Thank you, Gio! Looking forward to the next section.

This course is amazing. If i had to rate it i would give it a 9/10. I have done section one, and the reason why i would not give it a 10 is, because in my opinion, it needs more exercises in the course. For example, you cover 3 important topics and then follow up with a small exercise about it. I use GPT to generate me exercises. This was just a recommendation, but the course so far is amazing, so thanks for it. 👍🏼🤩

Why now? I mean, why I only discover this excellent tutorials from you Gio? hehe just kidding, I am really thankful that I learned a lot in the first section, I don't have courage to study seriously during my college days, I'm 1st year when you've created this channel and it's a waste of time back there in the school, I did not discovered your channel early. I graduated now w/o a strong foundation of coding. Maybe because I'm in the wrong place, I did listen in my school mate advise that youtube and tutorials will not help only gpt can. Thank you but I don't consider myself a genius. I just have a solid technique in explaining concepts & do a lot of research ahead of time. Years of experience comes in handy with that of course. I also think that you most likely graduated with a lot of knowledge, you just haven't applied it yet or have found a need to apply it. That's how I felt when I graduated but believe me that things I've learned in university have come in handy in a lot of ways, even the theories. Learning those things kind of opens up your mind and gives you different tools & techniques to look at problems. So, I don't think you've wasted your time with college. Keep learning & experimenting and you will see how college knowledge comes in handy.

This project really stretched me, in a good way, and I managed to complete it! 👍 I haven''t looked at your solution yet, but I decided to use keys|values for the transaction array. I think this might have unnecessarily complicated things for myself as extra functions were required to manage that format. And wow, did I ever make a ton of syntax errors. 🤦 The only way to assess understanding is to complete a project independently. And this project was absolutely perfect for what we've covered so far. I had to look up a lot of things in the PHP Manual and now I am aware of a whole bunch more things I can do with arrays and strings! 😀 Thanks again for creating this PHP course. It is amazing! 😍

I would like to ask you a question, after making the project with my solution, I took a look at yours. I noticed something that I personally don't understand. The fgetcsv() function is called twice within the getTransactions() function. Is the purpose of this to avoid the columns header being included? If yes, how is this possible? If this is not the motivation, why then is it invoked twice? Thanks anyway

Yes that is the reason. fgetcsv moves the internal pointer to next line in the file, so calling it first time and not assigning it to anything basically means to discard the first line
