My pet peeve is seeing tutorials like this where each clip comes out like it’s nothing, then when you go to do it, you’re spending 20 minutes on each one trying to get it out 😅

Fitted mine on Saturday, as for usb converter I didn't see one and didn't plug into usb socket is that not applicable to all models. It works but all videos only show set up for iPhone. I'm on android so had to wing it . The only issue I have is if you go back to car screen it will not connect back to android have turn ignition off then on again. Pretty sure it is phone/android issue not the box.Great service thanks👍

Hi Anthony, thanks for your feedback regarding this product. We will run some tests to see if there is a fix for when using an Android phone and switching between Android Auto and MINI iDrive.

I too have this issue in the MMI box i just installed, did you ever get a fix for this? I test fit mine and it did exactly this. Switch out of andoroid system to original car system, tried to switch back and the box essentially restarts itself.

Mine still does it. I have to turn off ignition until it shuts down then try again, usually works but not always.

@@anthonylopez4630 damn, have you tried with an iOS device to see if it's an android problem? I got mine of aliexpress so will ask the company if there's some way to fix

If I’m playing music on Apple CarPlay and I want to switch to idrive Will the music still play in the background? I find myself using the trip computer in my mini now and then and would be nice to still have the music playing from CarPlay as a switch between the two

We can confirm that CarPlay audio remains while browsing through the MINI iDrive

Do you need to connect the box to the usb?

I was doing great until I found that the head-unit behind the screen on my F56 was inverted with harness below the climate controls rather that upright as in the video. Was not brave enough to continue.

Confused about the USB converter as well. Did not come with my purchase and I’m not sure as to its purpose. Can you enlighten?

Hey Paul, apologies for the slight confusion. This is an EVO box installation, which means there are a few different parts required. The USB converter simply does the same job as the AUX cable, since the EVO models don't have an AUX connector.
