Very beautiful puppies. Love your videos Xx I am not sure if you will do a video answering questions about labour and delivery. Not sure if you have done that before but I have 2 questions in case you do - Question 1 - Is there is a reason why you don't want the mum's to eat the placenta and afterbirth after the puppies are born? Question 2 - I know one or two of the puppies were born not in the sacks and I was wondering if that is a concern or if you know what happened for that to happen as I know some puppies have their sack and others don't when being born.

Hi, I am happy to answer your questions I know I’m not Bailey but I have reared a couple of litters. So to answer your first question a lot of breeders don’t actually let the mums eat the placenta and the after birth and that is because yes they would in the wild but wild animals have a better immune system, whereas dogs can get really quite ill from it they get bad diarrhoea they get really sick stomachs like it’s not good. And to answer your second question puppy is not being born in the sack can be a concern but it depends on how long they’ve been out of the sack. So these puppies you could tell by the way they were acting they were in the sack for the majority of the labour, whereas if a puppy was to be the last puppy born, but they haven’t been in the sack since the first puppy they wouldn’t make it. Too long for a dog’s labour is about 18 hours. That’s when it’s been TOO long. But you should take your dog to the vet after about 10 hours 😊

I won't speak for Bailey, but with our program, moms can have up to four litters, though some may have more or less depending on a number of factors.
