Just ordered the pattern and am excited to do this! I used to make doll clothes when I was a kid but haven’t had a sewing machine in ages (I’m 50 now lol) and your tutorial is PERFECT!!! My boyfriend got me a new machine (I said no hi tech ones😂)

Ohh, also...this is Mary Ann again...could you give me the brands of the safety nose and eyes if possible? I do love your teddy bear and how you walk through the pattern. When I first saw your bear, I fell in love with it, as well as your other designs. Thanks so much for your help.

Please note I do NOT sell my patterns anywhere except Etsy! My patterns have been stolen and are being sold on other platforms. This is the only legitimate place to get mine: www.makeamemorybear.etsy.com

I haven’t attempted a bear yet thanks for the step by step tutorial! But wait, you aren’t backstitching when you top stitch the ear, leg and arm joints. How do they stay in place?

Hello, I have been searching for an easy pattern for our sewing guild to make for the upcoming holiday charity project. After watching many videos, yours is the easiest pattern to follow for all level of sewists. Would you give us permission to use your pattern as we will not be selling but rather they will be strictly Gifted to displaced children. Thank you Lonna Program Director for Lake Sumpter Chapter of American Sewing Guild

Hi, I purchased your pattern for this bear. I am having problems finding the safety eyes and nose. I am ready to start the project, can you please tell me where I can purchase these? Thanks so much. Mary Ann

If you cut the pattern into smaller pieces what's the best way to sew them all back together? Do you sew them all together to make the original pattern? Or do you just see them individually? I hope this makes sense, can't seem to find any videos on how to sew it as a patchwork bear ☺️
@MakeAMemoryBearCompany Жыл бұрын
Yes, I would first sew each individual pattern piece back together (such as reattaching the arms and legs to the body), and then follow the instructions from there to put the bear together. Also - it is important you leave just a little extra fabric at the joint when you cut out your fabric. For example; if you cut the arms off the paper pattern, please make sure the arms are just slightly longer (maybe 1/4 inch) when you cut it out of your fabric. You want to have that slight bit of excess fabric at the joint so you can reattach it to the body and still end up with the overall pattern being the right size. I hope that helps! Amy

when you cut the pattern into smaller pieces do you add a seam allowance to the pieces?
@MakeAMemoryBearCompany2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would recommend cutting the actual fabric slightly bigger than the pattern piece so that you have room for the seam. Good question!

Is back tacking not necessary?
@MakeAMemoryBearCompany5 ай бұрын
Yes, I normally back tack. (If I didn't in this video, it's either because I made it a long time ago and didn't know what I was doing or I was rushing. 🤣)
