Thanks so much for this. I wish I knew it was this easy. I was losing oil and played it safe and had it towed back to the shop. They just replaced the valve cover etc. Praying for a maintenance free summer.

My 2011 non turb....inly shows red oil light when checking idiot on service check....concurrently i have half check engine in idiot display so limp mode is activated...havent replaced and confirmed..yett..but soon...obviously the check is im juss going to replace...and if it stays on will need a oil pressure test to signify a greater solution...new pump or spun bearing question...the computer code should have ben designed to tell us in english rather than code.

thanks for commenting, I hope you sorted it. I didn't know if there was a code as well as the light so have since got an OBD code reader. One of the cam sensors was replaced again and it drives well (at the moment) 👍

Mines at the back of the engine near oil filter , mines a mini cooper r50 2005 is yours a mini cooper s

Yes we changed both, but now the fault has come back with sensor A, but it drives fine

You replaced both, are you referring to the oil sensor and the plug? And what is the sensor A. Thanks in advance!

@@gogogo1687 both Cam sensors (one was A - inlet???) and Oil sensor too 👍 & serviced etc.

@@WildwoodTV check oil pressure while engine is running. if it is low, check oil pump.
