Mini Old ANTIQUE Ornate BIRD CAGE for Dollhouse ~DIY~

I Wanted to Try Out a New Product I Bought a While Ago Called Antique Gold Chrome Metal Paint by Green Stuff World (AND I LOVE IT!). I Decided to Make This Old 'Antique' Looking Dollhouse Bird Cage. I Started Using Florist Wire but it Didn't Look That Good so I Changed the Plan. It's not Perfect, but I Quite Like the old 'Shabby' Effect. Looks Like it's Been in the Family for Many Years. You Can Easily Change the Design for a Less Ornate Look by not Having the Dome at the Top of the Cage. I Made the Other Two Birdcages With the Same Technique. One with smaller round base and the other with a square base.

Antique Gold Chrome Metal Paint by Green Stuff World (Small Bottle but Goes a Long Way)
Florist Wire (Might Work for Much Smaller Birdcage)
Jewelry Wire 1 mm / 18 Gauge (Main Gold Birdcage)
Thin Metal Wire (gold)
Foam Board
Balsa Wood
Corrugated Card
Dried Out Antibacterial Wipe (yes, weird I know)
Filigree Bead Caps
Filigree Large Metal Bead
Metal Spacer Beads
Textured Jump Ring
Metal Beads
(No Bake) Soft Clay For the Birds. Same as the One I Used for Making my Plants
Posca Pens
Bronze Permanent Marker
Tacky Glue
Super Glue
Acrylic Paint
Pebeo Transparent Relief Outliner (Brilliant if You Want Smaller Detail /Texture. There are Some Other Colours Available Too)

They turned out Beautiful!! I love how you used the corrugated cardboard for placement and stability. I love to use paper clay but I always color with chalk pastels, because paint is so heavy. I Love that you used markers to color the clay. Brilliant!!

This is so clever and beautiful! Using corrugated cardboard to space and hold the birdcage wires was brilliant. It ensured even spacing and stability. The sweet little parakeets are enchanting. 💕🩷🦜🦜

Thank you!! 😊💕 So sorry I didn't but I used exactly the same technique as the round cage and in fact making the square cage was so much easier. I cut a square base using foam board and measured the corrugated card around it. After that I glued the wire the same way I did with the round cage and then folded (glued) the 'edges' / bars around the square base. It was also easy to make a flat roof. Just to add some detail, I used Pebeo transparent relief outliner. Hope this makes sense.
