Is it true that the new battery might get overcharged by the car without registering it? My battery needs replacing, and I want to do it properly.

its called AGM battery training you need to do it... in my country is 20 euros at any battery seller if you buy it from them i think its free

Yes it needs to be registered. As it will be under charged I believe and prematurely fail.

I replaced mine but now auto start stop keeps saying failed? Iv been told the 2nd gen are voltage sensitive does it have to be a specific battery?

What a pain in the arse job but a great video. I have a classic mini and can change a battery in about 20 seconds with quick release fittings...the Mrs has a BMW Mini and it needs a new battery fitting 😞

Got to do this. Like many things the design of these great cars is terrible. Every thing is made more difficult because of poor thought into making things user friendly. Do not even start me on having to remove the dash fascia... Great cars, crap designers.

Great vid but that’s NOT IT!!! most gen II needs new batteries registered!! After spending €200/300 on a new AGM battery that won’t last more that couple years you’ll be looking for a new one. As well as this may cause other modules to start failing.
