I daily a 1992 Hijet everyday, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in any vehicle! She will hit interstate at 65mph no problem, albeit 0-65 takes somewhat of an eternity. I take driving it on road much like a motorcycle where you are more connected to the road around you. They are starting to become more and more prevalent, and I could not be happier about it! Love it! Though for the rear dump bed I would make the tilt bed a flat tilt bed with retractable ramps, so one could potentially fit a larger vehicle on it (like a small side by side). Just in case you need to recover such in the future and the vehicle is a little wider than the bed. Also be sure to add strap down points, so you could use it as a mini bike carrier as well . Cus who doesn’t love mini bikes on a mini truck eh?

I have the 95 version of the HiJet (minus the dump bed). They are a lot of fun. I use it to plow snow and haul firewood.... it is a little workhorse! I enjoyed watching this episdode!

MotoCheez did a build a few years ago ( the Playlist has 157 vids ! ) . He scoured Forums , but still got some sketchy [ hey , it *_IS_* the internet ! ] advice re: body lifts , suspension lifts , max tire sizes , etc. Ended up with a sweet 4x4 Kei Truck 👍 . I don't recall if he named the forums , but you can glean a lot of info of what MOD SIZES actually work. His buddy did a similar one & painted it TONKA yellow 😄 .

I had a '97 I imported that was a dump with a locker. Put a lift and 23s on it (really, 23s are pretty big for these things xD). It was a ton of fun, but pretty rough off road and not particularly capable. Fun though.
