The foam is 30 ppi, not 300 for those who are trying to do the same. Beautiful little wall and inspiring as always

@dave right, I think it was just a slip of the tongue which is why I left the comment. If you look up 30 ppi you can see its the same foam. As far as I can tell 300 ppi doesn't commonly exist, but if you can find it you'll see that the holes are too small and numerous for it to work well for growing moss.

I was watching your videos for so long and then 2 months ago I started building Terrariums and now I have 5. Will build a new one tomorrow. And Moss is now my favorite plant. Unfortunately I only have one native species available in my area. Thank you tenner for such an inspiration. God bless you.

Thank you so much for this video. I found your channel earlier this year because I had this same concept in my head. Wife and I started collecting moss and have a bin with its own little micro climate keeping the moss alive. I had the same idea for the watering but hadn't figured out mounting the moss. I wasn't really convinced it would attach so well to a vertical porous surface. :)

I like this project better than the last for the simplicity, affordability and the easy maintenance. The other project was beautiful but I feel it's just a bit out of my comfort level, I don't think I would attempt it. But this I just might make!

@@SerpaDesign Just wanted to add a plus 1 to Jojo's critique. Slowing down the transition speed a little bit would still keep the cool effect but make it a little less disorienting. Love the content though! Keep up the great work and have a happy halloween!

I recommend adding a gravity fed water system (like the auto top up water bowl you can buy for a pet). This will ensure an extended duration to your water supply ;)

When you rewire, cutting the hot/neutral at different lengths will make it easier to wrap and make the risk of shorting out much lower.

I love this. I wonder if I could modify this a little to grow carnivorous plants like Venus flytraps or sundews. I know they don't need nutrients in a soil so this may still work. It would be awesome to see if you could do something similar.

Thanks to this video, I put together my first Terrarium! Turned out just like the video with a few notable exceptions. 1) I had a hard time getting the moss to stick in the cut slots of foam so I used dabs of superglue gel instead and it's been working well. 2) I installed a lamp switch to the motor cable when I spliced it to put it through the box. This makes it easy to turn off the motor if the humming gets annoying. 3) Fungus gnats also love this moist open air terrarium and now it is literally crawling with gnat larvae. Any suggestions on how to remove and prevent this?

Since it isn't growing in dirt, wouldn't the moss need to be fertilized every once and a while like in hydroponics? If so, what would you use?

Moss does need and use nutrients! But in low light, it doesn't need much and many times get enough from just the dust in the air. But you can fertilize the moss from time to time with VERY diluted fertilizer mixed in water.

Tanner how long does moss last in your terrariums? Even in my closed terrariums it doesn’t last for more than 3-4 months before it begins to brown and look like it’s dying. I never seem to be able to get it to propagate either. please help 😞

make sure you the moss isnt constantly flooded with light because it can dry it out/burn it, make sure theres a good water supply and a very important thing is good draining!! its also good to spray the lid of the terrarium with water to initiate the water cycle :)

Please don't use this new effect for every single transition it's very disorientating. It might also be worth making sure the effect matches the transition (i.e. the effect should swing to the right if the camera's angle turns to the right). Other than that, good video, love the idea.
