I’m in the middle of a goofy swap…gehl 4840 that caught fire, pulled the locked up diesel and installed a 6 cylinder ford gas motor. Motor is running but have to figure out all the solenoids controlling hydraulics. Excellent video btw

Thanks for watching. You can see that orange bobcat in my garage, that will be a long video series as I have to do the exact same thing. Was completely burnt to the ground. I tracked down all the plastic components, and will have to do basically everything from the ground up. All the electrical work is going to be the hard part for sure. Good luck with your project and stay safe.

The hardest part for me was to make an adapter to mount the original bell housing to the 200 ford. Everything is centered off the crankshaft like it needs to be…fun to do with cave man tools and cut off wheel. I’ll be watching out for that series. I like your style…a man can never have too many skid steers.

That definitely is something I would watch. I love seeing ingenious ways to get the job done.

Doing this same swap with a predator 670 into an L20. Where did you find the couplers?

3/4" 11 tooth splined L-100 jaw coupling half for the pump side and L-100 1 inch keyed shaft half for the engine side. Both can be found on surplus center or a dozen farm supply sites. Thanks for watching

I like this idea alot. The Briggs vtwins are pretty good. I want to get one for my Case 222 garden tractor as a repower. It's currently got a Predator 420 13hp hemi engine in it only a year old and it runs great until I can go bigger.

They are great engines. If you can pick them up at a good price, usually people want quite a bit. Buying cub cadet garden tractors with the motor you want is usually the cheapest route to go especially if you find one that has a bad deck or chassis related issues they go for really cheap. Thanks for watching

@@FenrirFabrication I actually did this in the spring picked up a Cub Cadet 2206 for $200 runs and mows and has 336hrs now and a 20hp Kohler ending. A beat up machine but runs amazing. I was going to swap it into my Case but I ended up using it all summer to mow and now my co worker will be buying it from me for what I paid and I'm keeping the wheel weights it had on it lol. I plan to keep looking just so I can find a good engine for the future projects

@@iowafox2206 It’s always a pain in the neck trying to find a good horizontal shaft engine for a reasonable price especially where I am. I always keep an eye out for equipment auctions with inoperable equipment, that’s where I got both my Lincoln Ranger 250s. I bought them both just for the 22 horse horizontal Kohlers, got them both running only to find out that there’s not a thing wrong with the machines.

I found it from the inside, that’s the downside of flush style plugs when they get mud in them and years of paint and grime. I am such an impatient person. I’m still waiting on half the Hydraulic fluid I ordered to show up, things are so slow these days. Thanks for watching.

Be careful that gas does not leak on artery or engine since they sit below fuel tank.
@FenrirFabrication11 ай бұрын
I made sure there was no leaks there first. Definitely don’t want to dump several gallons of fuel on a hot engine. Thanks for watching
