I watched your video - and I watch quite a few videos of beading from various people - I must say that I love yours! You are clear and not condescending. Your framing is perfect. Your designs are beautiful! I look forward to starting a few pairs of these and playing with colors and styles like you have. I need to ask though, to change the size of the rivoli is there things that should be considered? Like size of the beads and stitch count..... I have a lot of smaller rivolis that I wouldn't mind using in this design and would need to know stitch count around the first circle.....

HI Stephanie....I hope you can offer some troubleshooting advice. I am struggling mightily with a couple things. I cannot get the rivoli to fit inside the beading. I pulled inward on the front 15/0 rounds, using what I believe is mild tension. When I switch to the back, I cannot get the rivoli to "squeeze" into place. I have gone through this 3 times already, ripping apart the piece and starting over. I've learned to use uncoated Miyuki 15/0s since these seem a better fit. I've also tried not using much tension on the front, and then before I move to the back, I pull the front working thread inward in the direction of travel to cinch it to capture the rivoli. When I do that, the star shape doesn't emerge on the final 2 rounds of 15/0s on the front; rather, I get a rounded flower shape. I've followed the tips you offer as well about holding on your finger as you add 15/0s to get a nice round shape and pulling inward to start "cinching." I've re-watched you as you progress in the video and your beads all line up and you are able to hold the rivoli in place. I am soooo frustrated since I cannot figure out what to try next. My hunch is correct tension is the solution, but how much and when, and getting the star shape instead of a rounded flower shape???????? Any of your sage advice is welcomed. I am now ripping apart my 4th piece and will start over. 😔

These are a wonderful project Stephanie, so THANKS for sharing your generous time and talent. I am having some trouble getting star shape consistently. I've viewed the video many times, and made about 7 pairs so far. I sometimes get a nice star shape and other times get more of a flower shape. I've followed all your tips to be sure I get tension right....but somehow I get inconsistent results. Do you have any troubleshooting ideas on where I am going wrong???? Merry Christmas to you and yours.
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much 😊 🙏🌻 If you are getting a good star shape on some of them then it could be as simple as tension. Also, possibly the15/0s if you are using different coatings etc. A few more hints 1. Make sure your Delica part is snug and consistent on both sides before adding your 15/0’s. 2. Push the 15/0’s into place with your finger to keep the star consistent. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 😘

Hi Stephanie, great project as always. I hope your hand is better😊. I have a question regarding pearls. I am trying to practice with some easy projects and i have a lot of natural pearls. Can i use them in bead weaving instead of the swarovski or will the hole be too small ? Thanks
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Marie-Claire🌻🙏😊 My hand is on the mend! I love using natural pearls in beading. Most of the time they work best for stringing. Some weaving projects where super precision is needed might be challenging. I would try them in any project to see if it works because they are so beautiful 😍 Hole size is inconsistent so make sure you can get a needle through a few times. I say go for it🌸
