Mini update & Running session. (Accurascale Bite Back!)

Even though the last video only came out recently, there’s been quite a lot of things going on at Colwich.
This one’s all about Accurascale class 37s (& a bit of Bachmann class 20)
37608 & 409 have received some front end detailing & some minor repairs (in the case of Large Logo 409 Lord Hinton)
Some of the wonderful Accurascale Magnetic Dellner couplings have been fitted to Europhoenix 37608 “Andromeda” for that touch of realism.
I’m not sure wether the real loco ever moved TPE Mk5 stock, but on the layout she has now! Rule one applies ⚠️
Take nothing away from the recent Cavalex 56 which is amazing in all departments, I still have a strong liking for the Accurascale 37 & I think the looks & sounds are Bob on!
I hope you agree.
The recent purchase of another Bachmann class 20 has sparked me into doing a full renumber, something I’ve never done before. With the help of modellers on FB & Instagram I’ve taken the plunge & safely removed the factory fitted decals/graphics, so now I’m awaiting the delivery of some Railtech transfers so 20306 can become compass liveried version to match with my other Bachmann 20 for nuclear flask duties☢️

Yeah, its not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it. I nearly got one of the Bachmann models, they looks a decent model too I just missed out on one when they were released. If I remember Richard at New Junction had one…

The old Europhoenix is my favorite 37 look and you mixed it with one of my favorite UK liveries... the TPE. Very nice! Great session and nice update... the layout continues to stun!

Thanks Darrell, it’s nice to run the Accurascale 37s again after all the fuss about the Cavalex release, although it was all deserved…both cracking locos. I’ve seen lots of people who’ve had problems with their 37s, I must have been lucky all the ones I have have been pretty good. Big question is do I invest in a Cavalex 60????? Cheers John b 😎

Definite confirmation, Europhoenix liveried 37510 and (either) 600 or 610 top and tailed a five car 397 TPE unit southbound through Leyland on November 4 2023, I managed to capture it. I must say those 37s and the new couplers look top drawer. One of my favourite model railway views is the corner on your layout through the countryside. Excellent stuff 👍👍👍

YES! I knew somebody would know wether or not that a Europhoenix 37 actually worked this type of train! Thankyou. It’s not vital that’s it was a real life train, but I’ve had a thought of the pairing the TPE & 37 for a while…. One day hopefully I will get the other end of the scene finished, but I’ve been saying that for what seems years. Cheers John b🥸
