Because demand and supply can't become zero (someone in the market still want the product and someone in the market producing it) so it doesn't become zero thats why it doesn't touch any axis

Imagine taking a hamburger away from a hungry person (who attaches a high value to the burger) and give it to someone who is full. This will cause deadweight loss.
